Empirical Study On Chinese University's Information Disclosure And International Comparison

Nowadays,transparency is the worldwide trend of modern public governance Universities public information is of great significance as higher education is closely related to the vital interests of the people.Most researchers focus on critical thinking in regard to university's information disclosure.However,what is the situation of Chinese university's information disclosure? Is there any difference between domestic and overseas in terms of university's information disclosure? What is it? What can we do to improve information transparency of universities? It's necessary to solve these problems by an empirical study.This research integrately using survey research,case study,comparative analysis,content analysis to explore the difference between domestic and overseas in university's information disclosure policy and implementation.This study indicates that Chinese universities have made progress in the mechanism construction,channel development and information transparency.However,our information disclosure policy system is lack of top-level design and supporting policies.Besides,regulations make ambiguous expression in the details of disclosure,such as content and time limit,and Information publicity channels is relatively few.The proportion of information which Chinese undergraduate universities publication is low.There is a regional discrepancy in the proportion of information disclosure websites and information transparency.Also,Chinese universities tends to be obvious policy dependency in the process of information disclosure.Therefore,it is necessary to expand the scope of information publicity,to refine standards of disclosure policy,and to make a clear definition of the content and procedure of publication.It is necessary to establish smoothly channels and evaluation mechanisms for information disclosure.Moreover,university foundations should not only disclose information,but also interpret and analyze it.
