Parental companionship means that parents provide material or spiritual support and help to their children by participating in their children's activities and taking an active parenting approach.Studies by feng li and other scholars at home and abroad have proved that effective parental companionship(especially father companionship)is beneficial to children's learning,self-esteem,self-awareness,mental health(including emotions,intelligence,social adaptability...),and some scholars have further confirmed that parental companionship indirectly affects students' academic level through self-concept,achievement goal orientation and other variables.This study adopts the quantitative research method,takes the middle school students in deqing county,zhejiang province as the research object,takes the parents' company,achievement goal orientation and academic performance as the research content,discusses the relationship among the three,in order to provide the basis and reference for improving the parents' company efficiency of middle school students and improving the family education concept.In this study,a total of 1080 questionnaires were distributed,882 were collected and 612 were valid.The research tools were the parent company scale,achievement goal orientation scale and academic performance(the parent company scale was completed by the students' parents,while the achievement goal orientation scale was completed by the students).The following conclusions are drawn:1.There was a significant positive correlation between father's emotional companionship and children's academic performance;There was a significant negative correlation between father's academic companionship and children's academic performance.2.There is a significant negative correlation between mothers' academic companionship and children's academic performance.3.There is a significant negative correlation between academic performance and performance goal orientation.4.There is a positive correlation between learning goal orientation and all dimensions of parental companionship,while there is a positive correlation between performance goal orientation and all dimensions of parental companionship.5.Performance goal orientation plays a partial mediating role between father's emotional companionship and academic performance;Performance goal orientation plays a part of mediating role between mother's academic companionship and academic performance.6.There are significant differences in the level of parents' companionship and achievement goal orientation among middle school students in terms of gender,only child,grade and parents' educational level.
