"Focus on learning the important concepts " is emphasized as teaching proposal in the "Compulsory Education Biology Course Standards" of the 2011 edition. For the learning of concept, Novak, an American scholar proposed the concept map in the 1960s. According to the requirement of basic education curriculum reform on the new round, it is necessary to change the way of students learning, from the passively receptive learning to active self-learning. In view of the current education status, it do exists that people do not pay attention to guide students on autonomous learning. As for concept map construction, the content is selected freely by student; the build process is self-monitoring; the construction works is self-summary, self-reflection, and self-evaluation; in which the essence of self-study is contained.Therefore, I choose the topic--- Autonomous Learning Practice on Biology of Junior School Based on the Concept Map, and strive to explore how exactly to use concept map to guide students toward self-learning through teaching practice. On one hand, it is for the problem exists in the education status; on the other hand, it is combined with the request of biology curriculum standard and the curriculum reform on basic education.In theory, the author try to find relevant support through literature study, including the following:the definition, composition and characteristics, type, construction, evaluation of concept map; the essential characteristics, the origin and development of autonomous learning; the meeting point of concept map and self-learning.In practice, I learn that the current situation of students' autonomous learning is generally low by the method of questionnaire. To solve this problem, I do experimental study to explore whether it is feasible and effective to promote students'self-learning with concept map. The objects in the research are the Grade-Two students of Liaobu Middle School in Dongguan city, Guangdong Province. And the teaching practice is divided into three rounds in a semester. According to the results, there are the following conclusions:(1) Seeing from the performance, there is a certain degree of influence on improving students'achievement, but no significant difference; (2) Seeing from the self-learning situation, through concept map learning, student have a more significant improvement in learning motivation, learning content and learning methods, but no significant differences in study habits and learning outcomes. Overall, the concept map plays a important role on promotion of students'self-learning; (3) Seeing from the effect of concept map learning, most of the students go into the state in learning concept map, and they are interested in further learning on concept mapping software----Inspiration.So, it can clearly be seen that it is feasible to promote students' self learning with concept map. On the validity, the author ponder on how to make better use of concept map to promote students' self-learning from the perspective of both teachers and students.
