In recent years, the divorce rate in the countryside has risen sharply, and various rural divorce incidents have continued to be reported to the media.Divorce in the countryside has become a hot topic in sociological, psychological, and demographic studies.Marriage is not only a private act that involves natural instinct, but also bears the responsibility of human reproduction and the maintenance of various functions of society.Combining with the high mobility in China, the mechanism and influence of rural divorce phenomenon has its particularity. As Ju village in Sichuan province Wusheng county a case, the paper adopts qualitative research methods, introducing details of the divorce situation in Ju village. The paper discusses the divorce of rural society based on the theory of individualization and the high mobility background caused by the Open-Door policy. The study found that due to a series of problems caused by working away from home,"individual standards" replacing "family-based",insatiable material desires, weakened marriage repair mechanisms etc,the current rural divorce phenomenon has the following characteristics:the universality of abandoning husbands and children, short marriage relationships, large proportion of migrant workers, and widespread divorce initiative for women. In addition to existing and universal findings,in the age of high mobility, divorce in the countryside has special characteristics in terms of causes and effects relative to divorce in cities and past rural areas. Therefore, this study emphasizes the following findings.First, there is a lot of factual divorce in the countryside.One-third of divorced parties in Ju village did not go through the divorce registration process, which means that the number of divorces in Wusheng County will increase further and the actual divorce rate will be even higher.Second,a large number of rural women abandon their husbands and children. This is largely due to the fact that in the age of high mobility, there is almost no land or property disputes in and out of Jucun village.Plus the lack of sense of responsibility, the escape phenomenon is widespread.Third, the sense of responsibility is absent, and selfish individualism prevails. In particular, when it comes to child-rearing education, parents lack awareness of responsibility.Fourth, rural divorced men have become truly disadvantaged groups. Most of them return to bachelors, which makes them negative and passionless.Fifth,The dilemmas children in rural divorced families face are often more serious than those of urban single-parent children. In Ju village, once the parents divorce,it basically means that the children have lost contact with their mothers, but not in cities.Sixth, the elderly are the biggest victims of divorce in the countryside.Suffering from psychological pressure and the task of taking care of the third generation, they are devastatedThe paper finally returns to the perspective of individualism to explore the issue of divorce in the countryside. It also communicates with previous studies and emphasizes that rural divorce in the era of high mobility has its own particularity and severity compared with urban divorce and previous rural divorce.Previous research on divorce issues rarely involved rural senior citizens. The study expands on this aspect, considering that seeing the old man's situation from the perspective of rural soaring divorce rate is an issue worthy of academic attention, and the whole society should concern.
