Recently,safety work in primary and junior middle schools,considered as an important basis for offering satisfactory education for the people and improving the well-being of the people,has become of great importance in the course of China's education with frequent occurrence of safety accidents among students.Painful lessons have made us aware of the urgency and significance of school safety education.However,safety education for boarding students has been ignored in most rural junior middle schools.The severe situation of safety education,which is worrying,urgently needs more attention from schools,families and the whole society.This paper takes the safety education for boarding students from junior middle schools in Y county as a main line.With methods of questionnaire and interview,an investigation and research on current situations of safety education for boarding students from 11 junior middle schools in Y county is conducted,the aim of which is to find problems,explore causes and propose feasible countermeasures.Questionnaire,including the basic situation of teachers and students,the cognition of safety education,the mastery of safety knowledge,the implementation approach and the safeguard measures,is respectively designed for teachers and students.Besides,the interview method is supplemented to make up for the survey.Based on the research,it is found that some achievements in safety education have been made in Y county in recent years.For example,consciousness for safety education has been gradually raised,activities connected with safety education have been carried out step by step,and benefits of safety education has increasingly brought.However,there are still some problems to be solved in the safety education for boarding students in junior middle schools in Y county.First,the safety education is not carried out in deeper level and more effective results are not available.Second,the safety education has the characteristics of weakened preventive function and hysteresis.Third,it is not clear who should take the main responsibility for the safety education and how to distribute the work.Responsibility subjects in charge of the work are lacking in communication and cooperation,so little effective synergy has been formed.Fourth,the safety education attaches too much importance to traditional contents and neglects the enrichment and renewal of contents.Last,more innovative access with diversified guaranteed resources to the safety education is not explored.The reasons for all above are as follows.First,sound and satisfying assessment mechanism is not available.Effective supervision of safety education is expected to be enhanced.Second,without sufficient government inputs,it is difficult to get effective guarantee in human and financial resources.Third,awareness of safety education among responsibility subjects is badly in need of being improved.In order to solve the above problems,this paper expects to provide solutions for boarding students in junior middle schools in Y county from the following five aspects.First,improve the assessment system and establish a long-term supervision mechanism for safety education.Second,strengthen regular oversight to ensure that safety education is fully implemented.Third,increase government inputs to ensure that human,financial and other resources for safety education are effectively safeguarded.Fourth,enhance communication and cooperation among responsibility subjects to build a "safe wall" together.Fifth,adhere to the combination of inheritance and innovation and continue to enrich and improve the contents of safety education.
