Research On The Different Influences Of Industrial Structure Upgrading On Regional Total Factor Productivity

As China's reform has entered a new stage,the economic development is also facing new problems and challenges.In transforming the development mode,the party's 19th National Congress has given a clear direction:to promote the change of quality,efficiency and dynamic of economic development as well as to increase the total factor productivity.The report also pointed out that deepening supply-side structural reforms and achieving regional coordinated development are all important tasks in building a modern economic system.Then,in the process of achieving regional coordination,is the adjustment of the industrial structure accompanied by the increasing in total factor productivity?Is the positive effect of changes in industrial structure on the economic efficiency of each region consistent?First of all,this thesis starts with the theory and sorts out the theory about industrial structure and total factor productivity.Secondly,Describe and analyze the situation of China's three regional industrial structures from three perspectives,and uses the data envelopment method to calculate the Malmquist production efficiency index in each region,and analys the current situation of total factor productivity in China and regions,and analyzes.The mechanism of the impact of industrial structure upgrading on total factor productivity.Then,this thesis collectes data of 30 regions in China from 1997 to 2016 and uses the fixed effect model to analyze the impact of industrial structure upgrading on total factor productivity among the three regions.The empirical results show that:First,the advanced industrial structure have a significant effect on the growth of total factor productivity in the eastern region,but have played a negative role in the growth of total factor productivity in the central region,but not in the western region.Second,the change of moving in a reasonable direction of industrial structure has played a role in promoting the growth of total factor productivity in the three regions.This positive effect is more pronounced in the central and western regions.Third,the proportion of high-tech industries is driving the growth of total factor productivity in the eastern region.Finally,this paper proposes countermeasures such as promoting the promotion of total factor productivity,implementing targeted industrial policies,strengthening industrial cooperation,and promoting industrial interaction.
