| With the rapid development of social work in our country,the service target for the social workers from the beginning to the people with difficulties and problems,slowly facing the needy and normal people,from rescue,relief to development,It reflects the trend in the process of professionalization of social work.This is reflected in the social work services for urban community school-age children.The school-age children who are studying in the community will encounter various problems in the process of learning and growing,especially in English listening and speaking.The issue of competence is particularly acute.Schools are an important environment for the growth and development of school-age children.The academic performance of school-age children at school is an important source of self-recognition and self-identity for school-age children.The G community is a typical multi-complex community,with commercial housing plots,demolition and resettlement communities,and old villages.How to improve the English listening and speaking ability of school-age children is an important issue in front of social workers and teachers in the school.In this study,10 school-age children in the G community were selected as research subjects and intervened by group social work.Before the practical work,the author first explored the English listening and speaking ability of school-age children in the G community in Wuhan through the field survey using the scale measurement method,semi-structured interview method,observation method,etc.,and found the school age in the community.Children's English listening and speaking ability has some serious problems,so through the empowerment perspective,the school-age children with more serious problems are involved.The perspective of empowerment is a perspective that focuses on people's inner strength and empowerment resources.The theory of empowerment perspective believes that empowerment and resources in people and their environment should be the focus of attention in the process of social work,rather than its problems and pathology.The theory focuses on excavating the merits of the client and helping him to recognize his own empowerment,thus solving the external or potential problems of the case.This paper intends to intervene in the English listening and speaking learning ability of G-age school-age children from the two aspects of learning motivation and learning skills through professional social work methods,using pretest and post-test comparisons,especially before and after intervention.The English listening and speaking ability of school-age children is explored.Let school-age children gain self-identity through the acquisition of academic achievements in the learning process,into the school.This paper designs four group activities to improve the English listening and speaking ability of 10 school-age children. |
