As an indispensable part of chemistry teaching in senior high school,the teaching of demonstration experiment can strengthen student's perception and the theoretical knowledge,which could also activate classroom atmosphere and enrich the classroom teaching process.Moreover,the professional quality of teachers can be improved through the teaching of demonstration experiments.Therefore,it is of great significance to study the teaching design and practice of demonstration experiment from the perspective of chemical core quality.After reading a large number of literature,summing up the research status,research methods,present situations and ideas of demonstration experiments at home and abroad,the author carefully designed the teaching cases on cultivating students' chemical core quality,selecting some teaching cases to design demonstration experiments in the first compulsory textbook,including “Sodium reacts with water”,“The nature of Ammonia”,“Comparison between the properties of sodium carbonate and sodium bicarbonate”,“The preparation of ferrous hydroxide”.Additionally,“Primary battery” in the second compulsory textbook is chosen.In the cases,the author focus on putting much emphasis on the cultivation of students' chemical core quality,guiding students to analyze and deduce the microscopic nature through macroscopic experimental phenomena,to pay attention to establishing the concept of change balance from chemical change in matter,cultivating students' ability of reasoning from the model construction,and enlightening students to connect what they have learned in chemistry with reality,thus,students' ability of inquiring into science and their social responsibility can be fostered.From the analysis of the survey results,it is found that after the teaching of the demonstration experiments,most of the students' learning interest and their ability of applying knowledge,scientific inquiry and analysis have been greatly enhanced.It shows that the demonstration experiment has a great effect on the cultivation of students' chemical core quality.Therefore,the design of reasonable demonstration experiment suitable for learning situation of students and the implementation of practical teaching of demonstration experiment can improve the effect of classroom teaching and help cultivate high-quality talents with comprehensive abilities for our society.
