The 2017 high school chemistry curriculum standard puts forward clear requirements for high school students' model cognitive ability.It is urgent to cultivate high school students' model cognitive ability and modeling ability.By reviewing domestic and foreign paper on chemical model research,most research focuses on the discussion of the nature of the model and the classification of the model.There are few empirical studies on the model cognitive ability survey.Based on this,through investigating the status of model cognition ability of the 12 classes of the two high schools in my internship county.Investigating and understanding the current status of cognitive ability of senior three and senior two high school students in order to provide effective suggestions and countermeasures for cultivating students' model cognitive ability.This paper lists the common models in middle school chemistry textbooks.Based on the relevant paper of domestic and foreign in model research,the research lists the mathematical models that are widely used in middle school chemistry teaching,including some abstract chemical models as well.Questionnaires on model cognition were conducted by students from two senior high schools in Shanyin County,Shuozou City,Shanxi Province,in the senior high school there are six parallel senior three classes(including repeat classes)and six parallel second classes,The students participate a test of model cognition,as an auxiliary part of this research,56 middle school chemistry teachers are surveyed about the current status of the use of graphical and image representation models,through the study,the summary as follows:(1)The model cognitive ability of middle school students decreases with the increase of their cognitive level.The model cognition level of students in senior two and three decreases with the increase of model level.(2)The model cognitive ability of the second grade boys is higher than that of the girls in each model level;after the one-way analysis of variance,there is no significant difference in the cognitive ability of the overall model;when come to the mathematical modeland the model of the ability to logical reasoning are required.There are significant differences between boys and girls,and boys are better than girls.(3)The overall model cognitive ability of the third-grade girls is slightly higher than that of the boys,with weakly significant differences;the average value of girls at all levels of the model(except the collection model)is higher than that of boys,and the cognitive ability of some chemical models is Boys have significant differences compared with girls.overall,the model's cognitive ability is that the third grade girls are higher than the third grade boys.(4)through the analysis of mean value and standard deviation,we can make a conclusion that :senior three grade students get higher scores in mean value at all dimension of models(Except for individual model);in low order model recognition,the value of the standard deviation in senior three grade students are lower than that in senior two grade students;in high order model recognition.Through the above research results,the following suggestions are given for the cultivation of Cognitive Ability of the High School Student Model.(1)The teacher should use the model materials of domestic and foreign textbooks to let students understand the model.(2)The teacher takes the typical model in the chemical history as an example to Let students understand the essence of the model.(3)The teacher should carry out modeling-based inquiry process to let students experience the modeling process.(4)Students should be trained in the logical reasoning ability of evidence.(5)The teacher should often use graphics and images to represent in the teaching activity.(6)The student should adopt a modeled learning strategy to deepen their understanding and memory of chemistry knowledge.The following suggestions are given for the cultivation of cognitive ability of two senior high school and three senior high school students:(1)Students' understanding of the model should be changed from low to high.Class(2)The teacher should conduct interdisciplinary preparation in group teaching and research activities.(3)Senior high school students should continue to lay a solid foundation and strengthen learning motivation.(4)Teachers should carry out new model-based teaching and problem-solving activities in peacetime.
