A Study Of Influence From Post-90s Family Wechat Use On Intergenerational Relationship

The purpose of this article is to explore the influence of WeChat use on intergenerational relationships from the perspective of both parents and offspring through a quantitative research method,and the mediating role of cultural feedback in the path of WeChat use to influence intergenerational relationships.And differences in intergenerational relationships in demographic variables.This research collected data through questionnaire surveys,and conducted correlation analysis,regression analysis,and mediation effect test on the data.The research conclusions are as follows: First,WeChat uses can increase Intergenerational solidarity,WeChat uses can deepen cultural feedback,and cultural feedback can increase Intergenerational solidarity.Secondly,cultural feedback plays a part of the mediating role in the path that WeChat use positively affects intergenerational relationships,that is,the use of WeChat between generations deepens cultural feedback and thus promotes the unity of intergenerational relationships.Finally,demographic factors such as parental sex and offspring's household registration have significant effects on WeChat use,cultural feedback,and intergenerational relationships.The detailed conclusions from the perspective of various dimensions of WeChat's use are as follows: The offspring's use of WeChat's communication function,the parent use of WeChat's life function,the offspring's self-disclosure and mutual recognition of WeChat use motivation,and the parent's WeChat use motivation can all significantly affect intergenerational relationship unity degree.This also confirms the view that “the degree of self-disclosure promotes the development of interpersonal relationships ”in social penetration theory.The offspring's use of WeChat entertainment information and social functions,the parent use of WeChat entertainment information and life functions can significantly positively affect cultural feedback.WeChat's entertainment information and social functions have enriched the topic of intergenerational communication,increased the diversity of methods of intergenerational communication,and inadvertently passed youth cultural values to their parents,expanding and deepening intergenerational cultural feedback.In addition,all dimensions of the offspring's use of WeChat can positively affect cultural feedback,but in parents side,only self-disclosure and mutual recognition can positively affect cultural feedback.This also proves that the achievement of cultural feedback is the result of joint efforts and in-depth communication between parents and children.In the correlation analysis of cultural feedback and intergenerational relationships,the study found that cultural feedback has the highest correlation with emotional solidarity in intergenerational solidarity,which means that cultural nurturing has achieved intergenerational mutual understanding through bilateral information communication and promoted the mutual tolerance between the two generations has promoted the emotional unity between generations.
