The rapid development of digital technology and the creation of new communication contexts by social media have reconstructed intergenerational interactions within families. On the one hand, the digital divide continues to change and develop, leading to a "silent revolution" where digital feedback becomes a common way for parents to accelerate intergenerational "digital socialization" within the family. On the other hand, parents, after acquiring media skills, use digital media to nurture their children through diverse interactive ways.In the early adulthood stage, which refers to the unique life period of 18-25 who pursue individualism but are still dependent on their families, this phenomenon is evident in intergenerational interactions. Therefore, studying the early adulthood population has certain representativeness and significance for maintaining intergenerational relationships in real-life families. This study focuses on the specific intergenerational relationship between early adults and their parents, using in-depth interviews and coding induction to explore the current level of digital integration and media interaction practices among different generations within 13 families of young adults. The study analyzes the intergenerational interaction of digital feedback and cultural re-nurturing using communication and sociological theories, combined with the interpretation of Chinese Confucian traditional culture,to interpret the new intergenerational relationships and power changes in early adulthood families today. This paper is divided into three parts. The first part is the introduction, which introduces the origin, purpose and significance of the research, summarizes the literature and defines the related concepts, explains the research problems and elaborates the research methods and specific operation process. The second part is the main discussion part, mainly consists of the first, second and third chapters. The first chapter summarizes the intergenerational communication situation between the emerging adults and their parents, and studies the specific performance of the degree of digital integration in the family. The second chapter tries to clarify the two interactive modes of digital feeding and cultural feeding from the three perspectives of communication content, form and motivation, and explain the conflicts and strategies of intergenerational complementing.Chapter three reveals the transition of intergenerational relations and the transfer of power between the two generations. The third part is the conclusion, which summarizes the research content and findings, and reflects on the shortcomings of the research. The study found that firstly, social platforms dominated by We Chat have become common places for families to interact digitally, and the differences in digital integration levels among family members of early adulthood groups exist not only between generations but also within the same generation.Secondly, intergenerational media interactions have resulted in "flowing education." Motivated by accelerating social integration, building emotional connections, and "knowing filial piety," young adults empower their parents through proxy feedback and supportive feedback, enabling them with tools, information, and skills, and successfully "domesticating" media.Parents then implement parental supervision online through dialogue, sharing, and reposting, transmitting traditional concepts and expectations of offspring training. In intergenerational media interactions, young adult children’s individual awareness and traditional ethical norms collide, resulting in a new type of filial piety that practices "filial piety without submission." Young adult children use their technological advantages to establish digital boundaries to minimize conflict possibilities and maintain an "intimate distance" in intergenerational relationships. Finally, compared to traditional society, young adult children have acquired personal affairs power transfers, but "parental authority" has never disappeared.
