Exploring The Relationship Between Social Media Use And The Mood Among Chinese College Students

In recent years,there is so much news about Chinese college student suicide and murder because of roommate conflict.It illustrates that depressed and anxiety moods have significant impact on daily life of Chinese collage students,and social media use is a major factor that has influence on the mood among Chinese collage students.The research method in this research was survey.This research mainly focused on the relationship between social media use and the mood of Chinese college students.This research chose self-rating depressed and anxiety scale and the simple version of big five inventory,designed a questionnaire about Chinese college students usage of social media,and researched on the relationship between use intensity,positive social media use,negative social media use,gender,personality traits and mood in the social media using process.After the study,this research drew the conclusion: the more usage of social media,the mood grows more negative,increase of negative usage of social media can harm the mood.And in these processes,female and neuroticism college students will be affected more.Based on above-mentioned conclusions,the author hopes that in the process of using social media,college students can communicate more with each other,reduce negative usage of social media consciously,and limit the amount of heavily edited positive information.On the while,instead of worrying about social attractiveness,college students should begin to worry more about mental health.
