A Case Study Of Children's Family Daily Life Under The Background Of Social Change

Children's daily life,especially family life,is affected by many factors: social and cultural background,political ecology,economic status and other social background,family geographical location,administrative region and other subculture fields,family structure,family income level,parents' education background and professional background.Especially in China,after more than 40 years of reform and opening up,has the great economic development and social transformation affected children's daily life?What are the new features of children's daily life today? Where should education focus? In order to solve above problems,with the current age of children as the standard,the historical period of the beginning of reform and opening up as the dividing point for the age of children's parents,the urban and rural areas and structure of families as the sample differentiation criteria,this study selects three groups of families in Y City of Henan Province as the case study objects.Longitudinally,this study compares the different living situations of three groups of children and their parents who live in different eras,so to trace the impact of social change imprint.Also,horizontally,this study compares the different lives of three groups of children who live in different families,so to explore the possible factors that affect children's daily life in the same era.Through participatory observation and in-depth interviews,the research finds that: the change from naturalized and localized content to urbanized and electronical one;the change from collective and free communication to individualized and restricted one;the change from living in closed space to opened environment;the change from living in relative poverty to a well-off status.The influencing factors include:the influence of urbanization on children's daily life;the influence of network era on children's daily life;the influence of family structure change on children's daily life.Based on the findings of the study,this paper puts forward relevant suggestions from four aspects: expanding children's life area;enriching children's life content;parents participate in children's daily life;cultivate children's sense of family responsibility.
