In recent years,with the scale of China's higher education expanding year by year,the quality of university personnel training has aroused widespread concern in society.Academic burnout is a common psychological phenomenon that exists widely among college students.Long-term academic burnout can not only adversely affect students' physical and mental health,but also lead to a decline in the quality of learning and waste of educational resources.The master's degree is the intermediate level of the“Bachelor-Master-Ph.D." degree system in higher education.And it is at a special stage of the transition from accepting learning to pure academic research.Its academic burnout has commonality with undergraduates and doctoral students,but it also has some certain characteristics.Therefore,it is of great theoretical and practical value to study the current situation,causes and influencing mechanism of academic burnout of postgraduates,and then to improve the quality of learning and educational efficiency.This paper takes the postgraduates of Zhejiang University as the research sample,and deeply analyzes the phenomenon and causes of postgraduates' academic burnout.Firstly,through the adapted questionnaire,it conducts exploratory factor analysis and shows that the postgraduate academic burnout levels are divided into three dimensions:low emotional sense,misbehavior and low sense of achievement;the causes of postgraduate academic burnout are divided into four dimensions:professional identity,self-efficacy,learning motivation and social support.Secondly,it finds that master's degree postgraduates show mild and moderate academic burnout as a whole.Furthermore,it compares the differences of the status and causes of academic burnout in demographic variables.Finally,based on the framework of self-determination theory,it deeply analyzes the influencing mechanisms of self-determination.The results show that:intrinsic motivation plays a key intermediary role between various influencing factors and academic burnout;self-efficacy does not play a regulatory role between various influencing factors and academic burnmout.Based on the above conclusions,this paper puts forward four relevant suggestions:vigorously promoting the mental health education of postgraduates;satisfying basic psychological needs and promoting the internalization of learning motivation;improving the mode of master's degree training and the level of professional identity;reforming the school education model to improve students,self-efficacy.
