In today's society,where data informational is more and more popular,mathematics is more and more closely related to problems in real life,and more and more practical application problems in life are transformed into mathematical problems to be solved,which indicates that mathematical modeling has occupied a very important position in real life.In today's basic education,people pay more and more attention to the cultivation of students' mathematical modeling ability,and pay more and more attention to the cultivation of students' mathematical modeling ability.However,the mathematical modeling ability of high school students is still not high,and there are few studies on the reasons for the low level of mathematical modeling ability of high school students.Therefore,it is of certain practical significance to investigate and analyze the current level of mathematical modeling ability of high school students.The research methods adopted in this paper include test paper survey,questionnaire survey and interview.Firstly,the connotation of mathematical modeling ability is defined,and then the status of mathematical modeling ability of high school students is investigated by questionnaire.Then,according to the relevant theories of ability formation and training,and in combination with high school mathematics curriculum standards and students' ability level,a test paper for students' mathematical modeling ability is prepared,as well as an interview outline for front-line mathematics teachers,and tests and interviews are conducted for students and teachers respectively.Then,on the basis of the survey and test results,the possible factors causing the low level of mathematical modeling ability of high school students are summarized in learning and teaching.Through the investigation of the present situation of mathematical modeling ability of high school students,it is found that their mathematical modeling ability isnot enough.According to the statistics and analysis of the results,this paper tries to find out the reasons of the weak mathematical modeling ability from the perspective of students.Second,students have too little practice on mathematical modeling.Third,students don't form the habit of summarizing learning.Fourth,high school students are not familiar with the steps of mathematical modeling,including not being able to transform practical problems into mathematical problems,not being able to choose reasonable models,not being able to analyze models with the knowledge that they have learned,and not being able to test the results by substituting them into practical problems.Based on the summary and analysis of the teacher interview results,the reasons for the poor mathematical modeling ability of senior high school students are found from the teacher's perspective.Secondly,the thought and method of mathematical modeling are not implemented in the ordinary teaching process.Thirdly,the selection of examples in mathematical modeling is not appropriate and the explanation is not comprehensive and detailed enough.Fourthly,teachers do not often assign mathematical modeling homework.The fifth is not to guide the students to summarize the ideas and methods of mathematical modeling.On the results of the questionnaire and test analysis,and the author of this article puts forward some countermeasures to improve students' ability of mathematical modeling and the teaching requirements,including strengthening the infiltration of students to the idea of mathematical modeling methods,understanding the various types of mathematical model,trying to make students to connect the practical problem with the mathematical problem,are increasing students' learning in mathematical modeling.The author of this article puts forward several requirements such as preparation before class,classroom teaching,after-class summary.
