The report of the 19 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China pointed out that to make every child enjoy fair and quality education,educational reform should not only explore the equality of educational opportunities with schools as the entry point,but also pay attention to how families promote educational equity.This study mainly analyzes the influence of family cultural capital on junior high school students' academic achievement.Based on the baseline survey data of China Education Panel Survey(CEPS),the following contents are studied: first,it describes the distribution of three forms of family cultural capital among different families.Second,it analyzes the impact of family cultural capital on the overall academic achievement of junior high school students.Third,it explores the influence of three forms of family cultural capital on the academic achievement of different groups of junior high school students.Fourth,it explores the influence mechanism of family cultural capital on junior high school students' academic achievement.Through data analysis,the following conclusions are drawn: first,there are differences in cultural capital stock of different families.As a whole,family cultural capital increases with the rise of family professional status and family economic level.The amount of cultural capital held by urban students' families is more than that of rural students' families.The cultural capital stock of non left behind students' families is more than that of left behind students' families.There is no difference in the stock of family cultural capital between boys and girls.Secondly,family institutionalized cultural capital,family objectified cultural capital and family specific cultural capital all have significant positive effects on junior high school students' academic achievements.Family cultural capital,as an intermediary variable of family professional status and family economic level,affects junior high school students' academic achievements.Third,family cultural capital has a greater role in promoting the academic achievement of students from upper,middle and upper class,very rich and relatively rich families.Family cultural capital can play a greater positive role in the academic achievement of urban and non left behind students.Therefore,the theory of cultural reproduction accords with the reality of our country.Fourth,family institutionalized cultural capital can affect junior high school students' academic achievement through parents' participation;learning attitude,as the intermediary variable of family objectified cultural capital,affects junior high school students' academic achievement;self-education expectation,as the intermediary variable of family specific cultural capital,affects junior high school students' academic achievement.Based on the above research results,the author puts forward the following suggestions: strengthen the social support of cultural capital;enhance the parental support of academic participation;improve the education expectation of students' development;cultivate students' good learning attitude.So as to improve the academic achievement of junior high school students and promote education equity.
