| In recent years,with the remarkable increase in the number of higher education,higher education has entered the popularization stage from the popular stage.In this context,the quality of higher education has gradually become a new hot topic,and the academic achievement of college students has been widely concerned as an important index to measure the quality of education.With the popularization of higher education,students from different family backgrounds are able to receive education in institutions of higher learning.On the one hand,the opportunity equity of higher education is improved;on the other hand,the difference between the family cultural capital stock of today’s college students is more and more significant,and the family background of college students in colleges and universities shows a trend of multi-polarization.Based on this situation,from the perspective of family cultural capital,to explore its influence and mechanism on the academic achievement of college students can also be an effective way to improve the quality of undergraduate education in our country.Through the collation and research of the existing literature,it is found that although there are a considerable number of studies on the academic achievement of college students,most of them focus on family economic conditions,school hardware facilities,etc.,and there are few studies on the impact of family cultural capital on the academic achievement of college students.This paper aims to understand the influence and mechanism of family cultural capital on college students’ academic achievement from the perspective of family cultural capital,so as to put forward relevant suggestions to improve college students’ academic achievement and make contributions to ensuring the quality of higher education.This thesis takes Bourdieu’s cultural capital theory as the theoretical basis,combines with domestic and foreign academic circles’ definition of college students’ academic achievement,sorts out relevant literature and materials,and builds the theoretical model required for this thesis.By sending questionnaires to 467 students from five colleges and universities in Anhui Province,SPSS26.0 and AMOS were used to construct a structural equation model to explore the mechanism of the influence of family cultural capital on academic achievement and put forward relevant suggestions.The results show that:(1)On the whole,demographic variables such as gender,major,grade and household registration have no significant influence on the academic achievement of college students.(2)On the whole,family cultural capital has a significant positive impact on both academic and non-academic performance of college students.(3)On the whole,family cultural capital has a significant positive impact on the learning motivation and learning behavior of college students in non-academic performance.(4)Objectifying cultural capital in family cultural capital of college students has a significant positive impact on college students’ academic performance.(5)Physical cultural capital and objectifying cultural capital in family cultural capital of college students have a significant positive impact on college students’ non-academic performance.(6)Both physical and objectified cultural capital in family cultural capital of college students have a significant positive impact on their learning motivation and learning behavior,while institutionalized cultural capital has no statistically significant impact.Based on the above empirical conclusions,this study suggests that differences in family cultural capital should be respected,and family cultural atmosphere should be cultivated from the perspectives of individuals,families and schools,so as to narrow the gap in cultural capital and provide effective compensation measures to promote high-quality development of higher education. |
