| In the field of football economics, the daily attendance rate of football matches has always been the focus of scholars. The calculation of the attendance rate of football matches is divided by the actual number of spectators entering the stadium. Most of the daily income of professional football clubs comes from tickets,so the overall operation of the club has a lot to do with the attendance rate.On the one hand, the high attendance rate can create a good atmosphere for the game for the fans, and then drive the high-quality development of sports products. On the other hand, the game day income brought by the attendance rate is an important part of the financial income of the club.To some extent, the high attendance rate reflects the good operation of the club music department.Deloitte's research data shows that in the past decade, the number of people in all levels of English leagues has increased, but at the same time, the development of TV broadcasting has caused a certain impact on the attendance rate since the 1990s.Compared with the English Premier League, the English low and medium level league clubs are more dependent on the revenue of the match day because of less broadcast games, lower broadcast share and bonus. It is of great significance for the operation of the club to have a deeper understanding of the factors affecting the attendance rate on the match day and take targeted measures to improve the attendance rate.In this paper, based on the existing research results of attendance rate, the attendance rate of different level leagues in the same league system will be explored.Based on the panel data of the last seasons' attendance, this paper uses econometric research method to explore the factors influencing the attendance rate of the three leagues in the English league system, namely the championship, the League One and the League Two,and analyzes the influence of each factor on different leagues. While considering the traditional factors,it focuses on the analysis of the broadcasting of competitive Champions League events and the two-week continuous host Match arrangement has a significant impact on attendance rate, and further provides management advice to League clubs at all levels. The data obtained from the empirical analysis shows that in addition to the traditional factors such as fan loyalty, game quality, distance between the two teams and ticket price, compared with the English Premier League,TV broadcasting has a greater impact on the daily attendance rate of low-level leagues. In particular, the broadcasting of the midweek Champions League Games will have a greater negative impact on the attendance rate of low-level leagues such as League A and League B Influence. In addition, the schedule will also affect the attendance. For low-level leagues, the schedule of playing at home for two consecutive weeks is not conducive to the improvement of attendance.Based on the results of empirical analysis, this paper puts forward suggestions to the low-level League clubs that they should claim certain compensation from the Premier League clubs for the affected mid week games. In addition, for the teams with lower league ranking, they should try to avoid the home games for two consecutive weeks when arranging the schedule. Finally, this paper will combine with the existing research, summarize the factors that affect the attendance rate of the game day,and the adjustments that the club can make, and provide ideas for the follow-up research. |
