The Application Of Case Work In Helping Seafarers' Spouses To Improve Their Parenting Styles

In the seafarer's family,the' seafarer leaves the family for a long time due to work abroad.The child lacks the company and discipline from the father,and the task of raising the child almost falls on the seafarer's spouse.Parenting style is an important factor that affects the growth and development of children.Parenting styles include not only the parent's parenting concepts and educational content,but also the methods and forms adopted in parenting,which reflect the essence of parent-child interaction.Healthy parenting styles can promote the growth and development of children,but unhealthy parenting styles can hinder the growth and development of children.The main research field of maritime social work is to provide professional services for seafarers and their family members,including solving the internal contradictions of seafarers'families and parent-child relationship issues.This article focuses on the research of the seafarer's spouse's bad child rearing methods,and explores how to use social work professional theories and practice models to solve practical problems.Correct seafarer's spouse's bad parenting concepts and bad parenting behaviors,and make them learn correctly.Using effective parent-child communication skills and methods to solve the problems and needs between parents and children,thereby improving unhealthy parenting styles of seafarers' spouses.In this study,the EMBU was used for the survey.The survey subjects were 20 children from different seafarer families.They are all from Shandong.According to the results filled out by the survey respondents,seven of the seafarer's spouses have problems in their parenting styles.The study combines case interviews and literature analysis to summarize the current status of seafarers' spouses in their children's upbringing,including parenting concepts,parenting behaviors,and communication and emotion between parents and children,and analyzes factors that affect the seafarers' spouse's upbringing.Finally,according to the principles of feasibility and practicality,three seafarer families with unhealthy parenting methods were selected for case intervention.The bad parenting methods of the three seafarer spouses were:refusal,over-protection and behavioral strictness-supervision.According to the basic situation of these three cases,the narrative treatment model,rational emotion therapy and task center model were adopted to intervene.The service effect is good,making the seafarer' s spouse aware of their lacking in upbringing.Seafarer's spouses correct their wrong parenting concepts and parenting behaviors,learning the correct and effective parent-child communication skills and methods to promote parent-child communication and smooth communication channels,thus to correct the unhealthy parenting style and forming a good relationship with their children.
