The Social Work Practice Research On Improving Sexual Orientation Self-acceptance Of Gay Seafarers

In recent years,the topic of homosexuality has been debated in the society.With the improvement of social tolerance,more and more homosexuals have appeared in the public field of vision,and the academic community has set off a trend of studying homosexual groups.As an integral part of the gay community,the gay seafarer group cannot be ignored,but it has not received corresponding attention.The problem of the gay seafarer group is not only related to the individual's mental health,but also closely related to shipping safety.This study focuses on the self-acceptance of gay seafarers' sexual orientation.Through questionnaire surveys and interviews,it is found that gay seafarers have difficulties in rationally treating their sexual orientation and having low self-acceptance.In order to improve these problems,case work will be used to intervene to improve the sexual orientation self-acceptance of gay seafarers.According to the causes of self-acceptance of sexual orientation,gay seafarers with problems are divided into three categories:"family-cause type","emotional-cause type"and "social-cause type",and design targeted intervention programs according to their different characteristics.And we selected three eligible gay seafarers as service objects,and conducted casework intervention on them to verify the effectiveness of the intervention 'plan,and to summarize and reflect.The study believes that gay seafarers who have problems with sexual orientation self-acceptance due to family,emotional or social factors can introduce social work methods to engage in targeted interventions to help gay seafarers solve the problem of sexual orientation self-acceptance.From the selection and intervention of service targets to the evaluation and follow-up of services,social workers follow the professional process of social work,but are limited by the ability and energy of the social workers themselves.The small number of gay seafarers surveyed makes the study There are certain limitations.This study hopes to provide reference for other scholars in studying gay seafarers,and to help gay seafarers solve practical problems while promoting the development of gay research.
