Based on the theory of self-determination,the present study investigated the effect of learning motivation on academic achievement of computer majors in Anhui Agricultural University.Since there is no direct relationship between students'learning motivation and their academic achievement,the study takes the satisfaction of students'basic psychological needs,their sense of self-efficacy in learning and their participation in class as the mediating variables This paper explains the relationship between learning motivation and learning achievement by constructing the relationship model between factors.The subjects of this study were 417 undergraduates majoring in computer science at Anhui Agricultural University.Path analysis was used to study the relationship between the factors.The results of this study show that:(1)when the undergraduate students of computer science major of Anhui Agricultural University take the initiative motivation as the main orientation in learning computer courses,it is easier to feel the satisfaction of basic psychological needs,the higher sense of learning self-efficacy and the higher sense of classroom participation,so as to achieve excellent results.(2)there is a direct positive correlation between students'autonomous motivation and their academic achievements When students'learning is mainly directed by autonomous motivation,they are also more likely to achieve excellent results.(3)when students are mainly directed by controlled motivation,they also feel the satisfaction of basic psychological needs However,students'controlled motivation can not directly predict their learning self-efficacy and classroom participation,and students' controlled motivation is not related to their academic achievement.Self-determination theory provides a theoretical basis for this study,which can effectively explain and describe students'learning motivation.This theory can effectively analyze the learning motivation and learning results of the students majoring in computer science in agricultural colleges and universities,which is not only enlightening to the cultivation of students'learning motivation,it also provides theoretical support and guidance for teachers to change their educational ideas and improve their teaching methods.Computer Teaching in agricultural colleges and universities should not only impart basic knowledge,but also take into account students'basic psychological needs,abilities and emotions.
