The prosocial behavior of junior high school students is affected by many factors.Existing theories and studies have found that peer attachment and empathy are important influencing factors among them.In recent years,they have attracted the attention of scholars as a research hotspot.Prosocial behavior is also important for the development of adolescents.One of the factors.However,further research is needed on how peer attachment and empathy affect the pro-social behavior of junior high school students.Peer attachment refers to the mutual intimate experience and support for mutual warmth established between adolescents and peers of the same age.Pro-social behavior is the behavior that brings benefits to others and can promote harmonious relationships between both parties and even society.This study explores the role of empathy in peer attachment and prosocial behavior,and explores the relationship between the three in order to provide feasibility suggestions for junior high school students' communication and education.A survey of 880 middle school students from 4 schools in different areas of Henan Province was conducted using the Peer Attachment Scale in the Parental Peer Attachment Scale,the Chinese Version Interpersonal Response Indicator Scale,and the Youth Prosocial Behavior Tendency Scale.Descriptive analysis,t-test,analysis of variance,correlation analysis and other statistical methods for the data and the process plug-in for Bootstrap intermediary effect test found that:First,the junior high school students' peer attachment is at a moderately high level.There are significant differences in gender,grade,and location of household registration.Second,the empathy ability of junior high school students overall is at the upper middle level.The empathy concern and empathy total scores differ significantly in grades.Third,the prosocial behavior of junior high school students is at a moderately high level.Prosocial behavior differs significantly in the location of the household registration,and the altruistic dimension of prosocial behavior differs significantly in gender.Fourth,junior high school students' peer attachment positively predicts prosocial behavior,empathy ability positively predicts prosocial behavior,and peer attachment positively predicts empathy ability.Fifth,peer attachment affects prosocial behavior through empathy,which is a partial mediator of peer attachment and prosocial behavior.Based on the above research results,the following educational revelations are proposed:First,take targeted measures to reduce the occurrence of peer alienation and promote the good development of empathy and pro-social behavior.Parents and teachers should be good at discovering and understanding the group characteristics and emotional states of teenagers,and take targeted measures to enhance the junior high school students' peer Attachment level.Second,help junior high school students discover their potential empathy ability.Teachers have more interactions with students in their daily work,understand students,listen to students 'hearts,and promote the development of students' empathy ability.Third,infiltrate emotional education content such as empathy in daily education and teaching activities to promote the development of pro-social behaviors and guide them in a timely manner from various aspects to avoid students from failing to form pro-social behaviors effectively.
