The Grand Tour is a special form of education and that is outside of the school education system,which can play an important role in enriching learning and increasing knowledge.The Grand Tour in the western had a long history,but the development of it into a tide was really attributed to the leading of the generation of the upper class of the British society.From the British mainland to the European continent,combined tour with study,The Grand Tour of the British did can play a certain role in the social development of the British and the destination countries as well as in the talent cultivation of today's society.?National Tourism and leisure program(2013-2020)?and ?Opinion on promoting the research and study travel of primary and secondary school students?and a series of central documents explicitly encourage “research and study travel”,and this new form of education has a great similarity with the Grand Tour of the British.Therefore,the study of the Grand Tour of the British has a great reference significance for the development and reflection of China's studying abroad and research and study travel.This study covers the various stages from the germination to the transformation of the Grand Tour,which are divided into four development periods,namely: the germination period(the middle ages),the rising period(the 16 th century),the booming period(the 17 th and 18 th century),and the transition period(the late 18 th and early 19 th century).This paper has an in-depth understanding of the different social backgrounds at that time,combs and studies the history of the Grand Tour of the British in each period,analyzes the development status,changes and specific reasons of these changes in different periods.The paper traces the history of the Grand Tour,analyzes the social and cultural traditions that germinated this activity,and then summarizes the reasons for the failure of rising in this period.In this stage,the Grand Tour in the United Kingdom was dominated by "tour",which had obvious characteristics.However,the proportion of "study" in it is very small,and the Grand Tour is in its infancy.In the 16 th century,the rise of the Grand Tour depended on the external background and internal conditions.On this basis,find out the key to hinder the acvitity.During this period,the proportion of "tour" in this activity decreased relatively,while the proportion of "study" increased greatly,gradually formed the characteristics of "tour" as the main aspect and "study" as the auxiliary aspect.In the 17 th and 18 th century,the Grand Tour of the British finally flourished.On the basis of analyzing the reasons,the specific contents of the Grand Tour are analyzed and introducrd.The case of Edward Gibbon is used to illustrate the development process of activities in this period.In this stage,the Grand Tour had combined the aspects of "tour" and "study",and truly realized that there was "study" in the "tour" and "tour" in the "study",which had reached the period of vigorous development.In the late 18 th century,the Grand Tour of the Britain began to face the transformation.On the basis of analyzing the causes of the transformation,introducing the two new modes developed by the Grand Tour.In this stage,"tour" and "study" gradually separated,and "tour" gradually developed into a mass tourism with modern characteristics,in which "study" was replaced by leisure and entertainment,and "study" was separated from "tour" and developed independently.People of that time held different views on the Grand Tour of the Britain and had relevant arguments.Analyzing its advantages and its negative impact,of course,the advantages of which is the main hand,and then introduces the follow-up effects of the Grand Tour from the three aspects,including the British society,European countries and social reality,which can provide reference for the development of studying abroad and research and study travel in China,so as to make them more perfect.
