Mathematical symbols play an important role in the development of mathematics.They can express abstract thinking clearly.The study of mathematical symbols is an inevitable requirement in senior high school,but the study of mathematical symbols in current senior high school education has not been paid enough attention.The research on the current situation and countermeasures of mathematics symbol learning is helpful to the improvement of students' mathematics symbol learning ability and the realization of mathematics symbol teaching goal.This research is mainly based on questionnaire survey and test paper evaluation,assisted by literature analysis and teacher interview.It studies the current situation and existing problems of mathematical symbol learning from five dimensions of cognition,mode,habit,difficulty and effect of mathematical symbol learning,and gives suggestions from two aspects of learning and Teaching.The research shows that students' cognition of mathematical symbols is not comprehensive,their learning methods are single,and their learning habits of mathematical symbols are not very good.Among them,the difficulty in learning is the operation and construction of mathematical symbols,especially in the level of abstraction and construction.The main reasons for these problems are that the students are not interested in the study of mathematical symbols and have a weak sense of learning autonomy,lack of daily practice,single thinking of problem-solving and insufficient guidance from teachers.In view of this,this paper puts forward countermeasures from two aspects of "learning" and "teaching".First of all,students need to correct the attitude of learning mathematical symbols,form good learning habits,learn to use existing resources to learn in many ways,cultivate the habit of expressing mathematical symbols,and strengthen targeted practice while focusing on method summary.In teaching,teachers must strengthen supervision,help students to improve their awareness of self-study,try to stimulate students' interest in learning mathematical symbols,pay attention to improving students' ability to calculate mathematical symbols,and strengthen the teaching of mathematical symbol abstraction and construction level.
