Combined with the needs of contemporary social development,the cognitive level and age characteristics of junior high school students,the 'Compulsory Education Geography Curriculum Standards(2011 Edition)" has added the column of "activity suggestions" in the "course content".It is hoped that through the "activity" column in the PEP geography textbook for junior high school,in order to cultivate students' ability of reading and analyzing maps,practical operation,analysis and inquiry,Implement the curriculum goal of "Learning geography that is useful for life and lifelong development".Based on teaching theory of activity,constructivism theory and Anchored-Instruction,this paper uses literature-summarizing method,questionnaire method,experimental research method and data analysis method,combined with the current situation of the first volume of geography textbook in grade seven,it puts forward the teaching implementation strategy of "activity" column of the PEP geography textbooks for junior high school students,and verifies the feasibility in practice.As an important part of geography textbook,"activity" column is conducive to cultivating students' ability of knowledge construction,practical operation and thinking exploration.From the aspects of learning ability and activity requirements,this paper divides "activity" column into knowledge-based activities,practical activities and inquiry activities.Through the questionnaire survey of teachers and students,it is found that although "activity" column is important,it has low attention,low utilization rate,low participation,single activity form,and the activity types of students and teachers are also inconsistent.Students are more willing to participate in practical activities,teachers are more willing to organize knowledge-based activities.In order to strengthen the awareness of activities,increase the openness,interest,hierarchy and extensibility of activities.This paper insists on the principle of geographical science orientation and students' main body,iIt is suggested that knowledge-based activities should adopt anchor based teaching,practical activities should adopt activity-based teaching,and inquiry activities should adopt situational teaching.At the same time,it analyzes the corresponding case of knowledge-based activities and inquiry activities,and gives some suggestions on the practical activities of the "activities" column in the seventh grade geography textbook.Finally,this paper selects two classes with the same score,based on two identical courses and different activity designs.Through the observation of students' participation in class and classroom tests,it is found that the accurately use of "activity" column in class,it is helpful to the cultivate students' ability of reading and analyzing pictures,practical operation,analysis and exploration,and comprehensive thinking.
