With the new curriculum reform and the promulgation of the "General High School Geography Curriculum Standards(2017 Edition)",high school geography textbooks have also been rewritten and revised.The new high school geography textbook "Basics of Physical Geography" published by the People’s Education Edition was officially used in the fall of 2020.The new curriculum standard regards the cultivation of core literacy as an important task of geography learning,and the "activity" column in the textbook,as one of the important surface systems of the textbook,plays an important role in the cultivation of core literacy.Therefore,the "Activities" column of the high school geography textbook "Basics of Physical Geography" published by the People’s Education Press is worthy of discussion and research.This article firstly uses the literature method to sort out and analyze the concept,theoretical basis,classification of activities,activity teaching at home and abroad,and the research of the "activity" column in textbooks using the literature method.Then it analyzes the characteristics of the textbook "activities" from the three aspects of the number of activities,the types of activities,and the context of the activities,and summarizes the characteristics and value of the "Activities" column of the textbook "Basics of Physical Geography".Secondly,using the interview method and questionnaire survey method to investigate and analyze the current status of the use of the "Activity" column in the current "Physical Geography Fundamentals" textbook.Thirdly,in combination with the current status of the use of the "Activity" column of the textbook "Basics of Physical Geography",suggestions for the improvement and use of the "Activity" column of the textbook are put forward.Finally,according to the suggestions put forward in this article,the teaching design and evaluation of the "distribution law of the world’s surface ocean currents" are carried out.The main research conclusions are as follows:(1)The "Activities" column of the textbook has been classified.The "activity" column in the textbook is divided into activities focusing on cultivating students’ thinking ability and activities focusing on cultivating students’ practical ability.The former includes: material analysis,opinion interpretation,and calculation analysis;the latter includes: experimental observation,collecting information Class,drawing and painting class.(2)From the three dimensions of activity quantity,activity type and activity context,the characteristics of the "Activity" column of the "Physical Geography Foundation" textbook are summarized: the number of activities is moderate and the distribution is balanced,the activity type is mainly based on material analysis,and the personal life in the activity context The selection of situations is relatively small.In addition,the "Activity" column plays an important role in cultivating students’ innovative thinking,logical thinking and practical ability.(3)From the perspectives of textbooks,teachers and students,it analyzes the problems in the use of the "Activities" column in the textbook "Basics of Physical Geography" published by the People’s Education Press: There is a certain deviation between the setting of "Activities" and the psychological development of students,and teachers use the "Activities" column.Timing is greatly influenced by its location,and there is an obvious contradiction between the teacher’s handling method and the student’s expectation.(4)In view of the use of the "Activity" column of the textbook,we put forward suggestions for improving the "Activity" column of the "Physical Geography Foundation" textbook of the People’s Education Edition: diversified and flexible activity locations,diversified and balanced activity types,and activity materials Innovative and life-oriented;Suggestions for use:Appropriately increase the difficulty of the activity,change the timing of the activity,and enrich the form of activity.
