Effects Evaluating Of High-Intensity Interval Training On Weight Loss In Overweight/Obese Adults:A Meta-Analysis

Objective Not only to evaluate the effect of High-intensity Interval Training(HIIT)on losing weight in overweight/obese adults,But also to provide a theoretical basis for exploring the effects on central obesity and blood lipid.Method Five database(Web Of Science?Pub Med?CNKI?Wan Fang)were searched.All published literatures of randomized controlled trials about High-intensity Interval Training(HIIT)on overweight/obesity from January 1,2000 to March 25,2019 were searched.Two independent reviews screened eligible studies based on the inclusion and exclusion criteria,extarct data and assessed methological quatily of the RCTs.Discuss with the third researcher to decide whether to include or not for controversial literatures.Results Eleven RCTs with 303 subjects were included for meta-analysis.Risk of bias for the12 studies was assessed using an eight item checklist adapted from the PRISMA statement.Nine studies have moderate risk of bias,three studies have high risk of bias.The study results(MD=-1.16,95%CI=-1.87?-0.44,P=0.002,P<0.01)?(MD=-1.26,95%CI=-1.92?-0.59,P=0.0002,P<0.01)?(MD=3.59,95%CI= 1.10?6.07,P<0.01)?(MD=-4.31,95%CI=-7.21?-1.41,P=0.004,P<0.01)showed that High-intensity Interval Training(HIIT)had significantly positive effects on BMI?fat%?HDL?WC in overweight/obese adults;But(MD=0.67,95%CI=-3.00?4.34,P >0.05)?(SMD=-0.14,95%CI=-0.47?0.19,P>0.05)?(SMD=-0.07,95%CI=-0.41?0.26,P > 0.05)showed that High-intensity Interval Training(HIIT)has no statistically significant on reducing TG?LDL?TC.Conclusion High-intensity Interval Training(HIIT)has significantly positive effects on BMI ?fat%?HDL?WC in overweight/obese adults;But it has no effects on TG?LDL?TC.High-intensity interval training(HIIT)is a feasible and efficacious strategy for people who want to lose fat or improving blood lipid.
