Alfred North Whitehead was a famous British mathematician,logician,philosopher and educational theorist in the 20 th century.He is also the founder of Process Philosophy,and his educational thought is deeply influenced by his philosophical thought,which has caused widespread concern in the academic world.Technology education thought is an important part of Whitehead's education thought,that is very unique and worthy of our taste and ponderation.China's higher vocational education is a research hotspot and an integral part of technical education.While higher vocational education in China acquired immortal achievements,there is also many shortcomings.The article mainly sorts out and summarizes Whitehead's technical education thoughts.And based on this theory,the article analyzes main problems in China's higher vocational education reform and proposes corresponding solutions.This article is divided into five chapters:The first chapter is introduction,which mainly introduces the origin of choosing the topic,research review,concept definition,research significance,research method and innovation of Whitehead's technical education thought.The second chapter discusses the theoretical basis of Whitehead's technical education thought,which includes materiality theory and procedural principle.The third chapter majorly combs and generalizes the main viewpoints of Whitehead's technical education thoughts,including the connotation,training objectives,teaching principles,and main features of technical education.The fourth chapter sums up the main problems existing in China's higher vocational education reform.It mainly includes three questions:regarding the implementation of training goals,there is a lack of attention to student subjectivity;the teaching content is mainly professional knowledge,ignoring the role of general education;in the selection and application of teaching methods,lack of teaching philosophy of contact learning.The fifth chapter discourses the enlightenment of Whitehead's technical education thought on China's higher vocational education reform.It includes the following:in the implementation of training goals,strengthen the respect for students' subjectivity;the teaching content should be combined with general education and professionaleducation,urges students to acquire free spirit;in the choice and application of teaching methods,the teaching concept of contact learning should be established.
