As moving into 21st century,the cultivation of talents becomes a common theme for the development of various countries.The core literacy has been taken as strategic perspective by many countries.The 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China proposed that fostering virtue through education is the fundamental task of education and clarified the essential objective of education.The essential issue extended from"fostering virtue through education"become"what kind of people we cultivated".According to this change,the Ministry of Education organized research and put forward the development of core literacy system for students in each academic section,and condensed the core literacy of each subject.The cultivation of biology core literacy of students mainly includes helping students establish the concepts of life,guiding students to conduct scientific inquiry,cultivating the scientific thinking of students,guiding students to focus on social focus,reinforcing the sense of social responsibility of students.The improvement of core literacy of students is the key task of school education,and popularizing scientific and technological knowledge to the public is an urgent task related to the scientific quality of the entire people and the realization of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.With the development of the times,the concepts and methods of science popularization education are constantly updated,which has a closer and closer integration with modern information technology.Combining the methods of popular science education with school biology education will play a very important role in cultivating core literacy of students in biology.In this research,we chose the students in the 8th grades of the eleventh middle school in Urumqi,Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region as the research object,incorporated Xinjiang's characteristic resources and combined the concepts and approaches of science popularization education with traditional classroom teaching to develop science popularization education.A series of research methods such as questionnaire surveys,statistical analysis,and comparative analysis have been carried out in the research of the impact of science popularization education based on Xinjiang's characteristic resources on the improvement of junior high school students'biological core literacy.Based on the"Compulsory Education Biology Curriculum Standard?2017 Edition?",we summarized five types of local science popularization resources that can be used for junior high school biology popularization teaching,including books,videos,physical objects,science popularization activities,and science popularization bases.After that,the students in the study group were divided into two groups which are experimental group and control group.Combined with Xinjiang's characteristic resources and popular science education methods,science education was carried out for students in the experimental group and general teaching was given to the control group.Referring to the Chinese Public Scientific Literacy Questionnaire and the"Future-oriented"Questionnaire for Adolescents'Scientific Literacy Questionnaire we developed a questionnaire for biological core literacy of junior high school students.The results showed that the popular science education had improved the four dimensions of junior high school students'biological core literacy,especially the social responsibility dimension.Combining the Xinjiang's characteristic popularization of science education resource,practical work of teaching,questionnaire data and students'feedback on teaching,we proposed a"three-in,one-out"science popularization education model,which is merging and cooperating characteristic activities,resources,scenarios into class and departing characteristic practices from class.This paper analyzes the influence of"three in,one out"popular science education model on the biological core literacy of junior high school students by combining with specific teaching cases,such as:creating situation of wildlife with Xinjiang characteristics as resources to carry out biodiversity teaching,carrying out activities of science popularization lecture hall to carry out mammal related teaching,and investigating the biology of the surrounding environment in the practice base of card science popularization.Based on the above research,we draw the following conclusions.First,Xinjiang's characteristic resources are suitable for junior high school biology science education.Second,the popularization of education based on Xinjiang's characteristic resources will help junior high school students'biological core literacy.Third,constructing a"three-in,one-out"popularization education model provides a reference for popularization education combining local resources.Combined with the practical problems arising from the implementation of science-based popularization teaching based on Xinjiang characteristics,introspection have been made from the aspects of practice and evaluation.In this research,we incorporates the science popularization education concepts and methods that combine Xinjiang's characteristic resources into junior high school biology teaching,which has a positive impact on the improvement of junior high school students'core biological literacy.Starting from summarizing Xinjiang's characteristic popular science education resources and implementing popular science education,evaluating the improvement of students'biological core literacy and a science popularization education model relying on Xinjiang's characteristic resources was preliminary constructed.The whole process was based on curriculum standards,which ensured the research direction,providing a reference for Xinjiang's junior high school biology teachers to do the popularization of science education combined with local resources.
