Parents' educational cognition affects family's educational concepts, methods and participation. It is not only related to children's physical and mental development, but also to family harmony and social progress. However, most of the existing studies focus on the dominant factors such as family upbringing style, economic status, cultural atmosphere, while the recessive factors such as educational cognition are not enough. In the new era, especially in the era of artificial intelligence, the complexity of education constantly poses new challenges to parents.Exploring the composition and operation mechanism of parents' educational cognition is expected to become the key to promote parents' orderly participation in education and cooperation between home and school. On the basis of reviewing the achievements of parents' educational cognition, this study refers to Cognitive Structure Theory,Social Cognitive Theory,The Embodied Philosophy and Decision Theory. This paper clarifies the connotation of "educational cognition",describes the composition and process analysis of educational cognition from the perspective of pedagogy, and constructs a cognitive model of parents' education.Parent education cognition is the concrete manifestation of interaction between subject and complex environment. Its connotation is rich and complex. It involves not only the factual connotation of what school education is,the value significance of what school education is useful, but also the static cognitive results and dynamic cognitive process. It consists of four dimensions: educational knowledge, educational value, educational experience and educational decision-making.Parents' educational cognition develops in the complex interaction of subjective factors and social factors. It is a dynamic process from knowledge and value experience,to decision-making,generation and reconstruction of knowledge.Every cycle means the improvement of parents' educational attainment. The purpose of this study is to explore the cognitive status of parents' education.Based on the cognitive model of education, this paper compiles a self-designed cognitive questionnaire for parents' education.By investigating the cognitive status of parents' education in more than 40 primary schools, junior middle schools and senior high schools in Jiangsu Province,it is found that the differences and identities of parents' educational cognitive level coexist among the three school-age groups.1.The educational cognition of parents of primary school students is generally in a relatively closed and unbalanced state. There are imbalances and lowcorrelation among the dimensions, and there is a lack of proper correlation and psychological logic.Disequilibrium and "isolation" of educational cognition are the psychological root of the crisis of parents' educational trust.2.The educational cognition of parents of junior high school students is generally in a relatively integrated state. The degree of connection among the dimensions is appropriate, but there is inconsistent or "inappropriate" relationship.Disordered and inconsistent educational cognition is the source of educational anxiety.3.On the whole, parents' educational cognition of senior high school students is in a state of serious imbalance and inconsistency. There are disjoints or irrelevance among the dimensions and lack of connection and integration.Serious imbalance of educational cognition leads to the psychological basis of "education negation or evasion" of parents of high school students.4.The educational cognition of primary and secondary school principals in Jiangsu Province is generally in a state of emotional, closed and unbalanced, lacking of "rational" support. There are disjoints or imbalances among the dimensions of educational cognition, which lack good consistency and systematic dependence among them. This shows that the educational literacy of parents of primary and secondary school students in Jiangsu Province needs to be improved.5.Age,place of residence, educational background, gender, occupation, monthly income and so on are all factors affecting educational cognition. When we analyze and consider the factors affecting the educational cognition of primary and secondary school principals,we should not simplify the conclusion, but fully consider the comprehensive effect of various factors and think dialectically as a whole. Finally,on the basis of a comprehensive analysis of the results of the survey, aiming at the problems existing in parents' educational cognition, specific strategies to improve parents' educational cognition are put forward.1.Deepening parents' rational understanding of education: long-term adjustment of educational expectations;comprehensive generation of educational experience;rational entry of educational decision-making;avoiding chaos and disorder of parents' educational cognition.2.Transform the split educational cognition of parents of junior high school students: the reduction of educational understanding;the conscious reflection of educational experience;the practical basis of educational decision-making;the review and integration of educational cognition of parents of junior high school students.3.Constructing the educational cognition of parents of senior high school students: deepening the rational understanding of education;debugging and revising the educational expectations;practicality and rationality of educational decision-making;advocating the transformation of parents' educational cognition from imbalance to reconstruction.4.Strategies to enhance the educational cognition of primary and secondary school principals in Jiangsu Province: step-by-step transformation, the proper meaning of parents' educational cognition;integration of horizons, the rational orientation of parents' educational cognition;controlling variables, the orderly development of parents' educational cognition;self-construction and the improvement mechanism of parents' educational cognition.
