| Parents’ educational expectations are an important factor affecting their children’s future development.Under the influence of traditional family concepts,parents have higher and higher expectations for their children,and in order to meet their expectations,parents will choose extracurricular tutoring to allow their children to achieve all-round development.However,if there is a large gap between expectations and reality,parents will make irrational choices,resulting in increased burdens on children and affected physical and mental health.In July 2021,after the implementation of the "double reduction" policy,parents’ educational expectations changed,and the choice of extracurricular tutoring also changed,which further affected the relationship between parents’ educational expectations and extracurricular tutoring choices.Based on the survey data of S City,Province H,this study explains the conceptual connotations of parental education expectations,extracurricular counseling and parental education anxiety by combing relevant literature on the basis of social cognition theory and cultural capital theory.Taking primary school parents as the research object,parents’ educational expectations as independent variables,the type,content,form and frequency of extracurricular tutoring choices as the dependent variables,and parents’ educational anxiety as the mediating variable,the research hypothesis of the relationship between the three was proposed,and a theoretical model of the influence of parents’ educational expectations on extracurricular tutoring choices was constructed.Through the descriptive statistics of the data,it is found that parents’ educational expectations after the "double reduction" policy are significantly improved;After the "double reduction" policy,the number of parents who chose subject counseling decreased significantly,and the number of parents who chose quality counseling increased significantly,the number of parents who chose one subject and multi-science counseling decreased significantly,the number of parents who chose one and more types of quality counseling increased significantly,the number of parents who chose one and more forms of quality counseling increased significantly,the number of parents who chose high-frequency subject counseling decreased significantly,and the number of parents who chose high-frequency quality counseling increased significantly.After the "double reduction" policy,parents’ education anxiety is at a moderate level.In this study,logistic regression analysis and multiple linear regression analysis were performed by Stata software to explore the influence path of primary school parents’ educational expectations on extracurricular tutoring choices.1.The results of the path analysis are as follows: parental education expectations before and after the "double reduction" policy significantly affect the choice of extracurricular tutoring type;Parents’ educational expectations before and after the "double reduction" policy significantly affect the choice of subject-based extracurricular tutoring content.After the the "double reduction" policy,parents’ educational expectations significantly affect the choice of content,form and frequency of quality extracurricular tutoring.Parental education anxiety plays a mediating role in the influence of parental education expectations on the content,form and frequency of and quality extracurricular tutoring.On this basis,through the regression analysis of interactive terms,the group differences in the influence of primary parents’ educational expectations on extracurricular tutoring choices were explored.2.The results of interactive regression analysis are as follows: the influence of parents’ educational expectations on the choice of extracurricular tutoring type is the difference in place of residence,the difference in family socioeconomic status and the difference in the number of children.Based on the above findings,it is proposed to attach importance to family education by responding to education policies;Pay attention to the cultivation of interests and develop personality specialties;Alleviate parents’ anxiety in education,establish the concept of health education,change parents’ traditional education concepts,rationally choose extracurricular counseling,and promote the healthy development of children’s physical and mental health. |
