Whole person education is an educational concept based on people,which aims to cultivate a well-rounded and well-developed "whole person",that is,the so-called "whole person".After more than ten years of practice and exploration since its establishment in 2005,UIC has formed its own school-running characteristics by combining its regional advantages,cultural traditions and school-running practice.The whole person education curriculum has also been continuously generated,developed,innovated and improved,gradually forming a system.Based on the process philosophy thought of whitehead,this paper takes the theory and practice of the whole person education curriculum of UIC as the starting point,explores its unique whole person education curriculum,and explores its whole person education curriculum setting concept,so as to propose the enlightenment to the university reform in China.This paper consists of six chapters.The first chapter is the introduction.Including the reason for choosing the topic,the research summary,the definition of related concepts,the research purpose and significance,the research ideas and methods,the innovation and so on.The second chapter mainly introduces the general situation of UIC,including the background and opportunity of its establishment,the educational vision,mission and characteristics of UIC,the liberal arts education model and curriculum setting of UIC.Taking the major as an example,this paper introduces its specialized courses,general courses and free elective courses.The third chapter is a detailed explanation of UIC's whole person education curriculum.At present,the WPEO(whole person education ofice)of UIC has developed and designed seven modules of courses,which are:Experience Development,Emotional intelligence,Sports Culture Course,Experience Art,Volunteer Service,Environmental Awareness course,and Adversity Management course.Each module has one or more sub-courses for students to choose from.The fourth chapter is the theoretical basis of the whole person education curriculum of UIC.The first is Whitehead's process philosophy theory,which is mainly reflected in Whitehead's organic overall universe view and ultimate polarity categories: creativity,one,and more.The second is Whitehead's educationalphilosophy,which is mainly reflected in the purpose of education,the rhythm of education,and the principles and methods of education.The third is the thought of "inner holy and external king" in the Chinese Confucian tradition.The fifth chapter is the whole person education experiential learning 0utcome evaluation.It introduces the evaluation method and assessment scale of the learning effect of the whole person education curriculum.Based on the existing data of WPEO,it analyzes the most important part of the whole person education curriculum.Five learning effects,the degree of improvement of students' learning effects,the realization of the expected learning effects of whole-person education courses,the overall effectiveness of whole person education courses,and the influence of whole person education courses on the quality of graduates.In the sixth chapter,combines Whitehead's process philosophy and the practice of the UIC's whole person education curriculum,and proposes enlightenment to China's university reform from the aspects of optimizing the structure of general education curriculum,talent training,and diversification of higher education.
