Research On The Change Of The Project Setting Of The Modern Summer Olympic Games(1984-2020)

With a history of more than 100 years,the modern Olympic Games has become one of the most important social and cultural activities of human beings.The Olympic Games has experienced four stages of development: difficult exploration(1896-1916),gradual standardization(1920-1944),maturity and perfection(1948-1980),and diversification(1984-present).Since the success of the commercial operation of the1984 Los Angeles Olympic Games,individual sports organizations have been expanding small items,and the Olympic events have expanded rapidly in a short period of time.In 2014,the International Olympic Committee(IOC)proposed in its 127 th plenary session that the number of 28 major events should not be limited.The host country can set the number according to its own situation.In addition to selecting 28 fixed events,major events will have 3-5 new temporary items.The new items can be sports that have appeared in the Olympic Games,and the number of minor events in the Olympic Games will be controlled about 310.In addition,five new events,baseball,softball,rock climbing,karate,surfing and skateboarding,have been added to the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games.The changes of the events not only reflect the development and innovation trend of the Olympic Games,but also put forward new requirements and challenges to the development of China's sports.This paper will use literature,comparative analysis,logical analysis,case analysis and other methods and research methods,mainly from the1984-2020 Olympic Games project setting changes and reasons for changes,comparative analysis of different dimensions of the Olympic Games project setting changes,analysis of the process of the Olympic project setting,the new and old changes in the internal and external causes,summed up 1984-2020 the characteristics and laws of the changes in the setting up of Olympic events in the past 20 years predict the trend of the development and reform of Olympic events in the future.According to the changing rules of new events and the direction of Olympic reform,China has put forward a series of solutions to the problems in the development strategy of building a strong sports country in response to the development and reform of Olympic events.At the same time,it also provides a theoretical basis for the development of sports events in the future.It can be used for reference to promote the sustainable development of sports in China.
