Analysis On The Influencing Factors Of Local Resident's Social Attitudes Towards High-skilled And Low-skilled Foreigners

The influx of foreign immigrants is bound to bring challenges to the relations between different ethnic groups.As racial-diversity country,European and American have always advocated racial equality in their policies,but the attitudes of local residents towards foreign immigrants is still remains hostility.Compared with western countries,China still new as immigrant destination,so,Chinese residents' attitude towards immigrants have not form A stable status.Not only have influence to the country's immigration policy,more important,ATII problem have a profound impact on social integration.The study of ATII is so meaningful for present condition.Meanwhile,the “skill” variable plays more and more important role in the study of international immigration,it even can effects the immigration policies.It is an variable cannot not avoided when it comes to the study of attitudes towards immigration.Based on those question,this paper used the data of “The attitudes of Chinese resident towards foreigner questionnaire in 2016”.Paper focus on the skill level of immigrants,discusses the attitudes of local residents towards immigrants.After studied western immigration theories about ATII,this paper takes the local residents of Yi Wu as the objects of investigation,discusses the factors affecting the attitude of local residents towards foreigners with different skills from a microscopic perspective.Study finds out the western immigration hypothesis theory is not perfectly suitable for Chinese ATII study.Specifically,the Socioeconomic Status Hypothesis are not applicable for the current Chinese immigration research.The attitude of Chineseresidents with different social and economic status have no significantly different towards high-skill immigrants,as well as the low skills immigrants.The explanation of Economic-Competition Threat Hypothesis is the strongest,economic threat and cultural threat is different when foreigners with different skill levels.The Contact Hypothesis was overturned,and the contact frequency did not increase the positive impression among the groups.The paper believes that the reason for this result is that China has been an immigrant destination for a short time,and the contact hypothesis needs to be further improved.
