Graduate education plays an important role in the process of China's transition from a large country to a powerful country of human resources.In recent years,with the expansion of graduate enrollment scale,the quality of graduate education has been widely concerned by the society.After 2013,China successively issued legal documents on the comprehensive reform of graduate education,and established the development main line of "demand service and quality improvement".Master's degree thesis is an important condition for assessing whether degree applicants can be awarded,and it is also the most intuitive sign of graduate training quality.How to improve the quality of master's thesis and postgraduate training has become an important issue in the field of postgraduate training management.At present,local colleges and universities account for 95.35% of the total number of colleges and universities in China,which has become an important subject of higher education in China.S University selected in this study is a typical local university.Relying on local characteristics,it has made remarkable achievements in discipline construction,scientific research and other aspects,which can represent the quality of postgraduate training in local universities in some ways.After decades of accumulation and development,its master's program in education has provided strong talent support for the development of local education.Based on this,this study is based on the current situation of the education master's training in S University,taking 116 dissertations of the education master's program since its establishment(2010-2019)as the research object,and using content analysis method,constructs the content analysis category system of the education master's dissertations,which includes five aspects: thesis topic selection,research method,writing standard,literature quotation and academic performance A first class.At the same time,we use the interview method to understand the actual needs of the master's degree thesis writing process,and explore the main factors that affect the quality of the thesis.Through content analysis,it comes to eight conclusions.Firstly,regional research occupies a large proportion in the selection of research level of master's degree thesis.Secondly,secondary direction of discipline has little influence on the research topic of master's degree thesis,and the topic selection of postgraduate thesis presents a diversified trend.Thirdly,the research direction of the thesis is no longer confined to the field ofhigher education,but gradually expanded to basic education.Fourthly,the use of quantitative research methods has gradually increased,but the overall proportion is not high.As well as the use of mixed research methods combining qualitative research and quantitative research in papers has gradually increased.Fifthly,abstract and chart are not standardized.moreover,the quality of periodical literature citation needs to be improved.Further more,the number and quality of academic papers published in the past two years have declined.Finally,there is a positive correlation between the number of academic papers published and the academic paper scores during the semester.At last,the paper analyzes the causes of the problems,including the lack of diversity of training programs,the weakness of standardization of management mechanism and the weakening of learning subjectivity of master students.On this basis,the paper puts forward the feasible strategies to improve the overall quality of the master's degree thesis of pedagogy,and tries to promote the development of pedagogy and the further improvement of the quality of postgraduate training in S University.
