Study On The Main Characteristics And Management Countermeasures Of The "Bad Review" Master Degree Thesis

The quality of dissertation is the key index to measure the quality of graduate education and the core factor to judge the academic ability of graduate students.As the main achievement of postgraduate study,dissertation can directly reflect the proficiency of graduate students in theoretical knowledge and professional skills,and judge whether graduate students have the ability to engage in scientific research work independently.To explore the main characteristics and management countermeasures of "poor evaluation" master's thesis can not only point out the direction of master's thesis writing,but also provide a reference for the cultivation unit's thesis management.In this study,the content analysis method was adopted to conduct an in-depth analysis of the blind review expert comments on 374 "bad reviews" master's dissertations of S university in 2017.All the materials were respectively from the information management system of graduate students of S university and the business archives of graduate students.In the research process,word frequency statistics and coding were carried out with the help of Rostcm6,SPSS 20.0 and Nvivo 10.0 as research tools,qualitative expert comments were presented in the form of quantitative data,and the main features of the " bad review " master's thesis were finally summarized.According to the word frequency statistics of degree type and subject category,blind review experts attach importance to the theoretical nature of academic master's degree thesis and pay attention to the countermeasures and Suggestions put forward in professional master's degree thesis.In terms of discipline,blind review experts pay attention to the theoretical depth and logicality of the master's degree thesis of arts,and emphasize the validity and richness of data in the master's degree thesis of science and technology.The research further carries on the coding analysis to the blind review expert comments,and finds that there are seven main characteristics of the "bad review" master's thesis,such as unclear research topic,unreasonable logical structure,unrigorous argumentation and analysis,inaccurate conclusion and suggestion,irregular article content,improper academic attitude and lack of innovation.These seven characteristics can be summarized as four deficiencies,that is,lack of academic rationality,lack of discipline,lack of standardization,lack of innovation and lack of practicality.The quality of master's thesis is affected by many factors.In order to improve the quality of master's degree thesis,this study focuses on the four shortcomings of " bad review " of master's degree thesis,and considers that the cultivation unit should start from the following four aspects: first,strictly enforce the entrance of teachers and students,attach importance to the quality of students and tutors;The second is to improve the quality of the curriculum,consolidate the basic scientific knowledge of master students;Third,strengthen the scientific research training and enhance the master's academic research ability;Fourth,we should attach importance to process management and correct the academic values of master students.
