Chinese modern physical education ideology and aesthetic education ideology,both originated in the period of national salvation.In order to strengthen the army to resist the aggression,the important officials of westernization introduced the western modern military exercises in the middle and late 19 th century,which started the modern physical education of China.Although the later reformists and revolutionaries had deepened their understanding of physical education,they all held the political utilitarian physical education concept.During the period when utilitarian physical education ideology was dominant,aesthetic education,as a frame of reference,formed a parallel relationship with utilitarian physical education ideology based on mind-body dualism.After the 1910 s,with the changes of history,due to its own defects and the implicit or explicit influence of the aesthetic education concept as the value base point,the domestic people began to reflect on the utilitarian physical education ideology and changed to the naturalistic physical education ideology: On the one hand,physical education and aesthetic education are gradually combined in the modern educational concept and system.On the other hand,the deeper level is the strengthening of the relationship between body and mind.The promulgation of the " School System of Ren Xu " in 1922 can be regarded as a symbol of the change from utilitarianism to naturalism.This change is influenced by the American naturalistic physical education ideology.During his two visits to China,Mc Cloy,an American sportsman,advocated the American naturalistic physical education ideology which contains a lot of aesthetic factors and directly influenced the formation of Chinese naturalistic physical education ideology.Chinese physical education ideology has changed from utilitarianism to naturalism,and its understanding of physical education has gradually changed from " strong soldiers " in the military to " strong people " in the education,its ultimate goal is training ideal human beings.The true purpose of physical education is to take aesthetic education as the soul of training ideal human beings;" mind-body monism " is the integration mechanism of aesthetic education and physical education;" Nature education " is the attitude of aesthetic education returning to the game origin;" Taste doctrine " is a kind of physical education with interest as the fundamental motive;" Aestheticism " is the aesthetic education core of naturalistic physical education ideology.Among them," Esthetic physical education " is the most distinctive symbol that the aesthetic education factor in Chinese modern naturalistic physical education ideology has been highlighted.Because of the aesthetic education factors in physical education that Chinese physical education can truly return to its educational essence,and give positive enlightenment to Chinese contemporary physical education ideology.
