The Comparison Of Off-ball Screen Between The China Men's Basketball Team And The Semifinal Winner Team In The 2019 Fiba Basketball World Cup

In the 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup,the China men's basketball team will regret to exit,will miss the Olympic Games for the first time in 36 years,and the traditional strong teams such as the United States,Lithuania,Serbia will not be qualified for the top four teams.In modern basketball where off-ball offensive is increasingly important,off-ball screen is particularly critical as a weapon for creating offensive space and for escaping and disrupting defense.The usage times,staffing,occurrence time,occurrence area,attack method and personnel movement method,cover form and effect of the off-ball screen are extremely important for the tactical design,field execution and post-match analysis of the off-ball screen,which also reflects the team's offensive concept and characteristics off-ball screen.Therefore,this article will comprehensively compare the characteristics of off-ball screen between China and the top four teams,find out the problems of the China team's off-ball screen,and provide a theoretical basis for subsequent domestic off-ball screen research.This paper uses literature data method,expert interview method,video observation method and mathematical statistics method to research and compare the characteristics of off-ball screen in all games of China team and top four teams in the 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup.The following conclusions are obtained:1.In terms of the overall characteristics of the use of off-ball screen,the total and average number of times the China team used screens was lower than the top four teams.In terms of staffing,both China and the top four teams cover the post players do of off-ball screen for perimeter players as the main screen form.In terms of the perimeter players screen for the post players,the two are equivalent,but the perimeter players screen each other,and the China team has fewer.1.In terms of offense,China and the top four teams use the cuter?screener?third person as the first,second,and third offensive points respectively,but China focuses on break and layup,while the top four teams focus on shooting and break and layup.2.In terms of the time characteristics,both China team and the top four teams off-ball screen mainly occurred in 0-10 seconds,and shots mainly in 11-15 seconds,indicating that the offensive transition is fast,the tactics are executed early,and the offense ends quickly.In terms of fouls,the China team is mainly in 16-20 seconds,while the top four teams are mainly in 11-15 seconds.3.In terms of the zone characteristics,both China team and the top four teams play off-ball screen mainly in the penalty area and elbow.In terms of on ball screen,thepick-and-rolls of China and the top four teams are mainly at the pop,while the hand-off of the China team is mainly at the right wing,the top four are mainly at the pop and the left wing,the China team focuses on off-ball screen combined with pick-and-roll attack,and the top four teams focuses on off-ball screen combined with hand-off screen attack.4.In terms of the form of screen and player movement,the main off-ball screen of the China team is back screen,followed by Away Screen(the cutter moves to the ball),and the top four teams are mainly Away Screen,followed by Flare Screen(the cutter moves away from the ball).In terms of movement after screen,the China team's screener and cutter tend to pop,followed by cut,and the top four team's cutter tends to Away(moving toward the ball),followed by cut,and the screener tends to pop,followed by cut.5.In terms of the effect of off-ball screen,from the perspective of direct scores,turnovers,fouls,indirect gains,free throw percentages after fouls,and scores of throws from out-of-bounds play,the difference between China and the top four teams is not large,but the total score,score average and three-point shoot are higher than the China team.6.In terms of frontcourt at the baseline out-of-bounds play,the top four teams use the off-ball screen more frequently than the China team.Both China and the top four teams use Away Screen(the cutter moves to the ball)as the main form of screen,but the China team mainly use the guard screen for post,and focus on the driving to the hoop.While the top four teams mainly use the post screen for guard,and focus on three-point shoot.
