A One of the important functions of history education is to help individuals to improve their understanding of the country and society,which is the case both at home and abroad.Since ancient times,China has attached great importance to "taking history as a mirror" and has made full use of "history education" to support the long history of the Chinese nation and individual recognition of the nation and the country.For other civilized countries,history education is also an important part of their basic education.Among them,the United States not only offered history courses shortly after its founding,but also became an important core course,and the status of history education was constantly improving.Although the society's recognition of the importance of history education in basic education is roughly the same,there are great differences in the content of history education selected by different countries for historical and realistic reasons.A large part of the contents of history education with obvious differences are presented in history textbooks,whether it is to record the history of the survival and development of specific groups or world history.The theme of "World War II" selected in this article is that World War II is a major event in the process of human history.This massive war has involved many countries.World history has developed to an overall level,and no country's history can separate its own history from the attribute of world history.What this article wants to think about is the difference in the history textbooks of middle schools after selecting the same historical event as the content of history education.This article takes Sino-US history textbooks as comparative research objects,and selects the theme of "World War II" in Holt McDougal version and Chinese People's Education version of history textbooks.The first part interprets the specific contents of this part of World War II in the two versions of textbooks,the second part analyzes the differences between the two versions on the compilation contents of World War II,and the third part explores various reasons for the differences and returns to reality,thinking about how these differences can guide the improvement of history education.
