The holding of the city marathon undoubtedly provides a bridge for the development of the city.A city holding the marathon can fully demonstrate the charm of the city and improve the image of the city.At present,when urban marathon is flourishing everywhere,many cities just blindly follow the trend,resulting in the phenomenon that the number of events increases rapidly but the quality is uneven.How to make marathon play a good role in the construction of city image in the state of high fever has become an urgent problem to be solved.As a rising star of marathon sports events,Lanzhou international marathon has developed rapidly,which has played an important role in influencing the image of Lanzhou city.In view of this,this paper introduces the CIS(city image recognition system)theory to discuss the impact of marathon and city image.The thesis is divided into five parts.The first part summarizes the research object,research purpose and innovation points of the paper,and carries out a literature review on the applied theories and research subjects.The second part is the research on the image positioning and image elements of Lanzhou itself.The third part is the key part of this paper,which analyzes the impact of Lanzhou international marathon on the city image from three aspects: city concept image,city behavior image and city visual image.The fourth part directly and concretely points out the deficiencies of Lanzhou international marathon in the construction of city image.The competition market degree is insufficient,the city image construction needs to be improved;The absence of competition organization hindered the dissemination of good image of the city.The fifth part is under the guidance of CIS theory,put forward optimization Suggestions: concept system,the historical and cultural symbols and modern spirit of the double-sided presentation;In terms of behavior system,the sustained and long-term communication needs the joint efforts of the government,the media and the public to implement and promote it.In terms of visual system,integrated marketing is the only way to develop city image.The results are as follows: first,the theme,culture and spirit of the urban marathon have an impact on the urban concept system.The event theme plays a leading role;The spirit of the competition reflects the unique charm of the competition;The multi-cultural process of public welfare,environmental protection and positive energy exerts a subtle influence on each participant.Second,the competition helps to improve government functions,cultivate high-quality citizens,increase the visibility of sponsors and enhance participants' sense of identity to the city.Third,the development of Lanzhou international marathon directly promotes the construction of Lanzhou's infrastructure,the improvement of air quality,the increase of green area and the overall improvement of the city's visual landscape.Fourth,the continuous development of Lanzhou international marathon has both positive and negative impacts on the city's image.Fifth,when introducing CIS theory to optimize the path planning of sports events,it should follow the principles of integrity,core and variability.
