With the development of the competitive Taekwondo in China, the number of papers in this field is also rapidly increasing. At this time,it is not realistic to sort out lots of papers manually. Therefore,it is particularly important to sort out them intuitively and efficiently by scientific methods.Competitive Taekwondo is a three-dimensional and complex system,so the improvement of athletes is inseparable from the complementarity of scientific research theory and training practice. The paper analyzed the progress of scientific research from literature research and training practice of competitive Taekwondo in China, which is of great significance for discovering the deficiencies of current research and promoting the formation of a good atmosphere for improving training and supporting scientific research in turn. This research used CNKI as a database to search the papers related to competitive Taekwondo from three perspectives: competitive sports composition, competitive ability composition and sports competition participants.Finally,1495 papers on competitive Taekwondo research from 1991 to2019 were obtained and were taken as the analysis objects.CiteSpace V was used as the main research tool to draw and analyze a series of related knowledge maps of China's competitive Taekwondo research to explore the development trajectory, distribution of high-yield authors and institutions, structure of scientific research cooperation network, key points and hotspots of the research and their developing characteristics of competitive Taekwondo in China. In addition,12 Taekwondo coaches were interviewed to know the situation of coaches' participation in scientific research activities and the assistance of scientific research to training in the practice. The conclusions of the study are as follows:(1)There is a high similarity between the annual change cycle of the number of Chinese competitive Taekwondo's papers and the Olympic cycle.Judging from the growth rate of the total amount of papers,China's competitive Taekwondo research has experienced two stages of birth and development.(2)In the field of competitive Taekwondo research, the cooperation between authors and institutions is at a low level and presents a continuous downward trend.Teacher-student cooperation and intra-institution cooperation are main ways of cooperation among authors.(3)The researches on the field of competitive Taekwondo in China focus on the statisticalanalysis of techniques and tactics in Taekwondo competition, the impact of new rules and the use of electronic protector in competitive competition, the common sports injuries in competitions and training, and the researches on training effect of different training methods and so on.(4)Researches on the application characteristics of techniques and tactics in competitive Taekwondo competition have always been a research hotspot that scholars have paid attention to.The research characteristics of the four periods can be summarized as discovery, regular pattern summary, refinement and deepening, and field expansion by analyzing the evolution of research hotspots.(5)The coaches have a low degree of participation in scientific research, and they have not fully realized the importance of competitive Taekwondo research literature in guiding training.Coaches have a distrustful attitude towards literature, and rarely take the initiative to participate in scientific research activities and use scientific research results to assist training.(6)The combination of scientific research and training practice is not close enough, and the level of research content needs to be deepened. To a certain extent, there is a separation of literature research and training practice in scientific research. And there is a lack of research based on the existing difficulties and long-term follow-up with the team.
