Research On The Influence Of Boundary Spanning Behavior On Employees' Creative Performance

At present,the society fully emphasizes the important role of innovation,which is an important source of national competitiveness and the key for enterprises to achieve leapfrog development.The improvement of employees' creative performance determines the innovation ability of enterprises.At the same time,faced with the increasingly fierce competition,the team can no longer focus on the internal,and more and more employees are given the role of boundary spanner.Effective boundary spanning behavior can help the team achieve its goals and bring more heterogeneous resources to the staff.Can boundary spanning behavior bring inspiring resources to employees and achieve their creative performance? Boundary spanning behavior requires employees to interact frequently with experts in different fields,share knowledge with team members,and switch between different ideas.Can knowledge sharing of boundary spanner broaden their minds and generate new ideas? In addition,the boundary spanning behavior is also a challenging task,which will make employees experience more stress.Can political skill,as an interpersonal skill,help boundary spanner relieve stress,achieve their goals?In order to answer these questions,based on the social network theory and the creative dynamic component theory,this study constructs a model including boundary spanning behavior,knowledge sharing,political skill and creative performance,use empirical research to verifies the relationship between them.The following conclusions are drawn :(1)boundary spanning behavior has a significant positive effect on creative performance;(2)knowledge sharing mediates the relationship between boundary spanning behaviors and creative performance.(3)political skill: networking ability,apparent sincerity,social astuteness and interpersonal influence have significant positive effects on creative performance.(4)four dimensions of political skill have moderating effects on the relationship between boundary spanning behavior and creative performance.
