With the continuous deepening of China's aging population, which has brought varying degrees of influence on society, economy and culture, ensuring the health of the elderly is a topic of concern to the whole society. This article is based on the common injuries of the elderly fall down, with yoga practice as an intervention means,to explore the impact of yoga on the balance ability of elderly women. This study uses the methods of literature, questionnaire, experiment and mathematical statistics. In Xicheng district,Beijing,32 elderly women aged 60-70 years were selected as subjects. Those who did not meet the requirements were excluded, the requirements were explained and the informed consent was signed before the experiment, and the subjects were randomly divided into the experimental group and the control group, each with 16 participants. The experimental group practiced Hatha yoga for three months, twice a week for 60 minutes each time, while the control group did not practice yoga, keeping the original lifestyle unchanged. After three months of yoga intervention, the changes of balance ability and lower limb strength of the experimental group and the control group before and after the experiment were compared. The experimental results are as follows:(1)the independent sample T test showed that the indicators of the experimental group and control group before the experiment showed P>0.05,indicating that the indicators of the balance ability of the experimental group and control group before the experiment were statistically different.(2)through paired sample T test,it was found that after the experiment, the experimental group stood with closed eyes on one leg P=0.006,sat in the chair for 5 times P=0.000,and sat in the chair for 30 seconds P=0.000,all of which were significantly different from the experimental group before the experiment. The P values of the control group were 0.568,0.059 and 0.095,respectively,showing no significant difference. It shows that yoga can improve the static balance and lower limb strength of the elderly.(3)research shows that older women have a higher degree of awareness of the importance of balance ability and realize the importance of strength training, reflecting the influence of knowledge level on the sports participated by older women. The study concluded that yoga practice significantly improved balance ability and lower limb strength of elderly women;elderly women have a good cognition of balance ability and strength training.Based on the research and analysis, this paper puts forward Suggestions from the aspects of yoga suitable for the elderly and attention to yoga practice for elderly women, hoping that yoga practice can be popularized in the elderly group,so as to improve their balance ability and lower limb strength, reduce the fall injury and other prevention, and improve their quality of life.
