Research objectives:This study used Chen’s Essence Eighteen Form Taijiquan and Simplified Twenty-Four Form Taijiquan as interventions, aiming to investigate the differences in the effects of practicing different schools of Taijiquan on static balance ability, dynamic balance ability, and lower limb muscle strength in female elderly,to provide a program reference for female elderly to practice Taijiquan,to alleviate the pressure of an aging society, and to provide a theoretical basis for improving the balance ability of female elderly.Research methods:In this paper, using the literature method, experimental method, and mathematical and statistical methods,36 eligible female older adults aged 60-70 years were recruited and screened as subjects at a Shaanxi provincial stadium, and the experimental requirements were explained in detail and an informed consent form was signed before the experiment, and the 36 older adults were divided into 18 in the Chen group and 18 in the Yang group using anonymous randomized grouping. The Chen’s group practiced Chen’s Essence 18-styles Taijiquan for 12 weeks, and the Yang’s group practiced Simplified 24-styles Taijiquan for 12 weeks for 60 minutes three times a week, including 5 minutes of joint warm-up exercises,10 minutes of pace exercises,35 minutes of stance exercises, and 10 minutes of relaxation rest.No change was made.By comparing the differences between different schools of taijiquan after the intervention and comparing the changes in static balance ability, dynamic balance ability and lower limb muscle strength before and after the experiment, the differences of different schools of taijiquan in improving the balance ability of female elderly were determined. Results of the study:(1)After twelve weeks of taijiquan intervention, the values of all indexes of static balance ability in both Chen and Yang groups were smaller than before the experiment and statistically different, indicating that both Chen and Yang taijiquan could effectively improve the static balance ability of the elderly, but the comparison between groups after the experiment revealed statistical differences in the indexes of standing sway length of the left foot with eyes open, standing sway length of the right foot with eyes open,Delta X(P < 0.05),and the Chen group was better than the Yang group, indicating that there was a difference between the two groups in improving the balance ability of female elderly people;(2)After twelve weeks of taijiquan intervention, the values of the indicators of dynamic stability limit of both feet in Chen’s group and Yang’s group were smaller than those before the experiment, and there was a statistical difference(P < 0.01)and the comparison between the groups after the experiment found that the regular difference was better in positive direction in Yang’s group than in Chen’s group and some indicators were statistically different;Chen’s group was better than Yang’s group in deviation direction and some indicators were statistically different;(3)After twelve weeks of taijiquan intervention, the risk of falling in the Chen and Yang groups was smaller than before the experiment and statistically different, while there was no statistical difference between the groups after the experiment;(4)After twelve weeks of taijiquan intervention followed by 30 s chair sitting experiment, both Chen and Yang groups had a highly significant reduction(P<0.01)after the experiment compared to the pre-experiment,and there was no statistical difference between the groups.Study conclusions:(1)Through twelve weeks of taijiquan practice can effectively improve the static balance ability of female elderly people, and the improvement effect of Chen’s taijiquan is better than Yang’s taijiquan, especially in single-leg support.(2)Twelve weeks of taijiquan practice can effectively improve the dynamic balance ability of female elderly people, and there is a regular difference between the two groups of practitioners in improving their balance ability, with Yang’s group better than Chen’s group in improving the positive direction and Chen’s group better than Yang’s group in improving the deviation direction.(3)Through twelve weeks of taijiquan practice, the pre-experimental and post-experimental comparisons showed a significant increase in fall risk values in both experimental groups, but there was no statistical difference between the two schools of taijiquan groups;(4)Through twelve weeks of taijiquan practice, both groups of practitioners could effectively improve the lower limb muscle strength of female elderly, with the Chen group slightly better than the Yang group.
