Mathematics origins from life then is applied to life."Application of mathematics in daily life and "mathematization of life" is an important way to cultivate students' “four capabilities” in mathematics teaching.Research on one-way "mathematics— life" has been a hot topic for mathematics education workers,but researches on two-way"mathematics—life" is a few.Therefore,how to conduct two-way "mathematics— life" from the perspective of "four capabilities" has become an important issue in primary school mathematics teaching.This thesis explores the connotation,characteristic and theoretical basis of two-way "mathematics— life" from the perspective of "four capabilities";reveals the problems in classroom observation and interviews,and put forward teaching strategies,then presents teaching design of Elementary Understanding of Fraction.To conclude: the connotation of two-way "mathematics—life" from the perspective of "four capabilities" is that mathematics comes from life then is applied to life,which is a cyclic process between mathematics and life."Four capabilities" and "mathematics —life" are mutually promoted and supplemented.Different teaching strategies from life to mathematics and from mathematics to life can be used from two aspects.First,teaching strategies from life to mathematics include: accumulating life materials and creating open situations with underlying problems;guiding students to discover problems and put forward them in mathematical language;analyzing problems with mathematical thought and method;constructing mathematical model from life so as to abstract essential attribute;solving the problems already posed in the situation with mathematical models.Second,teaching strategies from mathematics to life are as following: finding problems from mathematics to life and concertizing mathematical models;Analyzing of vertical and horizontal links to highlight the value of the two-way;Solving problems then applying mathematics into life;Discovering new problems and constructing new mathematics.It is suggested that the above-mentioned teaching strategy are effective in mathematics teaching and could be used throughout the whole process of teaching.
