In the new era of international competition, the status of national image is increasingly important, and the study of national image has cumulatively become one of the hot topics concerned by humanities and social sciences,The reason is that building a good national image is conductive to improving the comprehensive strength of the country.Every country will spare no effort to show a good national image on the international stage, but the world is so big that the display of national image needs the involvement of mass media.Meanwhile, audiences at home and abroad need to know and understand a country through media communication.Looking at the global communication pattern, the current media communication strength still presents the unbalanced pattern of "the west is strong and the east is weak".How to spread a good national image in today's unbalanced media ecology has become an important and realistic task facing all countries. As a global media event, the Olympic winter games has become a carrier for countries to spread their national image, and the media has become a window for the world to understand the national image of a country, the media dissemination of national image has far-reaching significance. As a world sports power, the United States has a leading role in the development of global sports cause with its sports report and communication,Is the American sports report influenced by culture and ideology with certain subjective bias? How does the United States build its national image through sports reporting? On the basis of frame theory, this study in the way of “the other” combines corpus linguistics and critical discourse analysis, studies the propagation rules, construction characteristics and causes of the national image construction of the host country of the winter Olympic Games by the New York Times.Through the analysis of the New York Times in 2010,2014 and 2018 Winter Olympic Games to the host country sports related report found that a United Nations report on sports by “gold medal first” and “inhumane training” gradually turned into small catch in attention to the story behind the story scene, embody human American sports career shift and a global shift.Studies have shown that represented by the New York times western mainstream media, for reasons of political and economic interests,in the construction of Olympic host country national image, the influence of the national political considerations and ideology,on the same media event-winter Olympics-build national image, present a different image characteristics: South Korea is an unstable political management, science and technology developed,to create sports power image, strength the pursuit of the developed countries in the peninsula peace.Second,Russia is an authoritarian, geopolitical, sports power is seriously questioned, national identity and pride is disappearing dictatorship.Third,Canada is a sports country with excellent education and social welfare and multi-cultural development.Politics aside, the New York times maintains a balanced and balanced approach to sports news. The above research provides feasible Suggestions for China to hold the 24 th Winter Olympic Games: First,We will provide public services and manage public relations, improve the emergency response capacity of the Chinese government and citizens, and deal with doping incidents in a fair and equitable manner,so as to ensure the safety of venues, courses and related equipment.Second,We should strengthen exchanges and cooperation with foreign media, learn from the balance of foreign media reports, respect the law of news value, and proceed from facts in all aspects,so as to improve the credibility and communication ability of Chinese media and better shape China's national image.
