Teachers, parents, and students place too much emphasis on performance, ignoring the students' overall development needs, and are not conducive to the growth and development of students. In recent years, the cultivation of core literacy has been hotly debated by all walks of life.It has become a trend requirement for the new round of education reform and the research content that scholars of various disciplines have focused on.Through the cultivation of core literacy, students are expected to have a certain amount of hands-on ability, scientific spirit, and scientific research awareness while mastering knowledge. This is what is lacking in current teaching. As a natural science, chemistry plays an important role in cultivating students' core qualities and students' all-round development.Chemical literacy includes five dimensions: "macro-identification and micro-analysis," "changing ideas and balance thinking," "evidence reasoning and model recognition," "scientific inquiry and innovation awareness," and "scientific spirit and social responsibility," the Ministry of Education. The newly issued "Guidebook for Moral Education in Primary and Secondary Schools" also proposes that chemistry courses should strengthen the cultivation of students' scientific spirit and scientific attitude. This article integrates chemical history into chemistry teaching, motivates students with the deeds and experiences of scientists, and raises students' awareness of core literacy in scientific spirit and social responsibility. This paper mainly uses questionnaires and interviews and other research methods.First, the investigation and interviews were conducted on chemical teachers in the form of questionnaires and face-to-face interviews to understand the use of chemistry history by chemistry teachers to raise students' awareness of core literacy, and the lack of teachers' awareness of cultivating students' core literacy in teaching.Secondly, students are surveyed and interviewed to understand the level of students' awareness of their core chemistry and literacy.Again, the results of the two classes' surveys were analyzed using SPSS23.0.The results showed that the level of consciousness of the core literacy of the two classes is basically the same, and teaching experiments can be conducted.Afterwards, the teaching principle that the history of chemistry is integrated into the teaching to enhance students' consciousness of core literacy is put forward, and the material content of the history of chemistry in the teaching material of the People's Education Press is sorted out,and part of the content is selected for the teaching experiment. Finally, the level of students after the teaching experiment was analyzed again through questionnaires. The results of the survey and interviews with teachers showed that only seven teachers in the teaching of chemistry history to cultivate awareness of core literacy consciousness only one. Before the teaching experiment, regarding the core literacy awareness of “Scientific Spirit and Social Responsibility”,the average scores of the test papers for the two classes were 49.62 and 49.82,respectively,and the students' awareness of chemical core literacy was weak.Through the analysis of the textbooks,it is found that the materials in the required textbooks are relatively few in chemical history. There are a total of 7 required for compulsory materials, and a total of 5 required for compulsory materials. There are more material in the history of the elective textbooks,10 in elective textbooks 1,and 3 electives. There were 12 of them,6 of the electives 4,9 of the 5 electives,4 of the electives 6,and 2 of them were the most elective, with 24 of them. After the teaching experiment, the analysis results of the average scores of the test papers of the two teaching classes showed that the chemical history was integrated into teaching, and the average score of the experimental class was higher than that of the control class, and the degree of improvement in the awareness of “scientific spirit and social responsibility” was higher than that of the control class.Compared with the teaching experiment,it increased by 14%.Students are paying close attention to the current affairs and hot topics related to chemistry and society. They pay more attention to life, use social sciences to view social issues, view and understand science scientifically, and correctly understand the contribution made by chemistry to the society.By integrating the history of chemistry into classroom teaching to improve students' awareness of the core skills of chemistry, the following conclusions have been drawn: Integrating the material of chemistry into classroom teaching can not only increase students' concentration of lectures, classroom participation, and love of chemistry courses. Moreover,it helps to raise students' awareness of core literacy in terms of “scientific spirit and social responsibility”.Students' attention to chemistry and social-related current affairs and hot spots has increased. They also have obvious understanding of the contribution of chemistry to society.Progress has deep understanding and understanding of the scientific spirit of seeking truth and being pragmatic and arduous. In addition, the materials of the chemical history presented in the compulsory and elective textbooks of the People's Education Press will be summarized and combed, which will help teachers to retrieve materials of chemical history and integrate them into teaching to improve the efficiency of lesson preparation.
