In the 21 st century,the rapid development of information and technology,compared with the accumulation and acquisition of knowledge,the application of knowledge has received more and more attention from everyone.With the increasing international attention on mathematical modeling,China has also realized the importance of mathematical modeling.Model thinking as one of the ten core keywords in the compulsory education stage,in 2017,the Ministry of Education promulgated the “Standards for Senior High School Mathematics Curriculum(2017 Edition)”,and took mathematical modeling as one of the six core mathematical literacy.High school is the golden stage for the development of mathematical modeling ability,senior one as the transition from high school to compulsory education is particularly important.Based on the above background research,firstly this article summarizes the related research on mathematical modeling and determine the connotation of mathematical modeling,give evaluation indicators in combination with PISA2012.Based on the senior high school curriculum standards,and drawing on the SOLO classification theory,the evaluation framework is given.Then combining relevant literature to prepare test questions and questionnaires,test papers and questionnaires cover the main contents of various dimensions of mathematical modeling.Finally,a prediction and a formal test are conducted,and 180 high school students from a high school in Panjin City are taken as the research object to investigate the status of mathematical modeling.Survey results show:the level of mathematics modeling of Senior One students has reached Level Two as a whole.Individual classmates are slightly better,and they reach level three however few students reach level four.There is no gender difference in senior one students' mathematical modeling level.The score rate of the mathematical modeling process dimension is higher than the mathematical modeling knowledge dimension and the context dimension.Students have the highest level of probability and statistics in the modeling knowledge dimension,and the highest level of personal life situation in the modeling context dimension.In the modeling process dimension,the application level to the model is the highest.Based on the above results,make the following suggestions to teachers: starting from the surrounding situation,diverging students 'thinking;using heuristic methods more;guiding students' mathematical learning methods;developing modeling emotions;focusing on results expression.Make the following suggestions to students: learn about mathematical modeling through multiple channels;actively participate in mathematical modeling competitions;participate in social practice activities.
