In recent years,with the deepening of basic education curriculum reform,optimizing the curriculum of primary and secondary schools based on the concept of education for sustainability development(ESD)has become the research focus.However,there are few studies on the characteristics of integrating ESD into STEM curriculum and how to construct the analysis framework of STEM curriculum in primary and secondary schools from the perspective of ESD.According to this,this study puts forward three questions,"what is the teaching principle of STEM curriculum from the perspective of ESD" "how to build a case analysis framework of integrating ESD into STEM curriculum" "which ESD elements are mainly concerned about in the content and implementation of current excellent STEM curriculum examples".This study is carried out in six chapters.Firstly,it analyzes the feasibility of integrating ESD into STEM curriculum through literature review,summarizes the teaching principles of STEM curriculum and the elements of ESD,and preliminarily constructs the case analysis framework of integrating ESD into STEM curriculum;Secondly,drawing on Delphi method,it invites expert groups to analyze the case analysis framework of integrating ESD into STEM curriculum three times.The content and structure of ESD are discussed scientifically,and the validity of the tools is guaranteed through the measures such as the structured framework,expert consultation,pre-test and the common coding of many researchers.Finally,the text analysis method is used to code the courses content and the learning process,grasp the ESD concept,teaching mode,ESD elements of the four excellent STEM courses from Hong Kong,China and the United States.It is found that the case analysis framework of integrating ESD into STEM curriculum is reasonable and can be used to analyze the features of ESD conceptcontained in STEM curriculum plan from the micro level,which has strong theoretical and practical significance.The text analysis found that in the four cases,the integration of ESD into STEM curriculum objectives promotes students' socialization and independent thinking;the curriculum content involves systematic problems in the fields of environment,society and economy;the curriculum implementation integrates ESD values and STEM teaching mode;and evaluation of curriculum focuses on students' self-evaluation and peer evaluation.The research suggests that educators analyze the characteristics of STEM curriculum cases in primary and secondary schools by applying the framework of case analysis of ESD integrated into STEM curriculum;they should learn from excellent curriculum experience,integrate ESD concept into STEM curriculum,promote students' development;provide multiple learning support,advocate multi-dimensional teaching methods;pay attention to the teaching content and Strategies of values,and constantly exert educational influence;strive for the support of the whole system,such as community and institutions,and carry out teaching in the community.
