“Sceientific thinking” and “Scientific inquiry” are important contents of the core literacy of the biology department.As a scientific thinking method,critical thinking is the quality of thinking from the perspective of objective facts and rationality,reflecting,questioning,analyzing and judging.Inquiry-based teaching is a teaching mode in which students are the mainstay and based on life experience,students are required to give full play to their observation,memory,attention,and thinking skills.It can be seen that the inquiry teaching process is closely related to the cultivation of critical thinking.Based on the perspective of high school biology,this study attempts to propose models and strategies for inquiry teaching.In order to develop students' critical thinking,and provide some experience and inspiration for the teaching research of frontline teachers.The introduction part of this paper uses the literature analysis method to briefly explain the background and significance of the research,the content and methods of the research.The first chapter elaborates the research progress of inquiry teaching and critical thinking at home and abroad by combing the literature.The second chapter mainly clarifies the basic connotation of inquiry teaching and critical thinking and defines related core concepts,and analyzes the relevant theoretical basis.The California series questionnaire is selected as the investigation tool.The third chapter is the investigation and research section.The author conducts a questionnaire survey on students to understand the status quo of their critical thinking level;and interviews teachers to analyze the teacher's cognitive profile of inquiry teaching and critical thinking.The fourth chapter is the focus of this study,which is mainly divided into two parts.Firstly,on the basis of literature analysis and actual investigation,try to summarize the inquiry teaching mode and propose the corresponding teaching strategy;then the teaching practice part,the author returns to the classroom,combined with the teaching strategy,select three cases of the human education version of the high school biology textbook Conduct teaching research.The fifth chapter is the analysis of the practical effect of high school biology inquiry teaching to cultivate students' critical thinking,in order to test theeffectiveness of the strategy.The sixth chapter is the conclusion and reflection of the research,summarizes and evaluates the content of the research,points out the shortcomings of the subject,and puts forward the prospect of training students' critical thinking in inquiry teaching.
